Mitsubishi dlp tv; black and white rectangles on screen

Mitsubishi WD62575 TV: All I can get on my tv is 100;s of black and white rectangles. None of the controls work. Any thoughts on what the problem is and how I can fix it?

The input does not seem to make a difference. I can unplug all of the input and get the same rectangles when the power is turned on. I can not change between inputs so it must be something in the tv itself.

The problem appears to have nothing to do with what is plugged in so it must be from the tv itself. I have tried unplugging all of the conections and still have the rectangle brick pattern when I turn on the power. Any thoughts?

If it's a digital t.v. your signal strength is too low and the "signal-packets" can't be read or downloaded by the t.v. receiver to produce a picture, digital is very fussy on signal quality and strength of signal since the change-over from analog to digital, also any obstructions will deminish signal quality

may I ask you, what type antenna,locale(i.e. metro area-tall buildings) signal blockers,& if you unhook the antenna all together I presume no pix what so ever, can you put a safety pin in the center conductor on the antenna connector and see what that does while touching the pin,i.e. you're the antenna for now and see what that does?

After turning tv off two small white dots appear on the screen mitsubishi 837 dlp

Hello, contact Mitsubishi, they are sending out the chip at no charge to repair the problem, but they do not include the labor. if you are handy, there is a video on how to do it, otherwise when you receive the part contact a repairman. If they know what their doing, they should be able to do it there for around $100-$135.....tks

My Mitsubishi TV has a small white dot on the screen

This could be something on the lens or mirrors. you can open one or both porthole covers on the left or right side of TV to determine if this is the cause. You can look at the mirrors & lens to determine if a bug or dust has gotten on either part. Then clean.

HOWEVER, the most likely cause is the DLP chip. this causes white & or black dots. May start out as one or two, then multiply.

See the following website for the proper DLP chip for your Mitsubishi model#:

I have white and black spots on my 65in hd1080p what is it tv is on 2 years old

Hi, I have a mitsubishi 65" DLP model # 65733 that I bought in December 2007 brand new, about six months ago I started spoting white dots on my screen that started blinking and then became permanent, thinking is was dust I cleaned everything inside with compressed air without success.
The stars multiply daily to a point that it was intolerable to watch anything with all the white stars and a few black ones that showed up.
We called mitsubishi but got no where, I was out of warranty. (they still deny having a problem with their DLP's)

I had a service tech inspect the tv and was told it could run about $800 to $1000 to replace the light engine with refurbished parts with 90 day warranties.

Researching on line I came across a DLP chip that is compatible with several mitsubishi and samsung models, so I decided to chance it, and replace just the DMD chip before we trash the tv, it was unthinkable to pay $800 to repair a tv that we could buy now for under $900.
Thanks God the "gamble" paid out and the problem got solve with just $150 DLP chip in about 15 minutes of my time.
If you are not mechanically nor electronically inclined, I recommend you use a technician for the installation, but don't let anyone tell you you need to replace the whole light engine, it is a ripoff.
If your problem is just white or black dots on the screen that do not move.......this will solve your problem!!

P.S. Hope this will help you and for the record..... "I will never buy a mitsubishi product again".

Sounds like it is closed captioning coming up. I would go in and verify both your TV's and the Cable/Satellites closed captioning is off.

Mitsubishi tv; black & wht rectangles only on screen.

Bad capacitors and probably a surface-mount fuse on the Formatter board.
There will probably be bad caps on all five boards within the chassis.

62' Mitsubishi WD-62525 little black and white squares instead of picture but I have sound

Mitsubishi list this problem and has a solution of replacing several small surface mounted caps and diodes. we have tried this repair 5 times and only successfully done it once. so replacing what is called the formatter board part # 930B924002 for around $ 350.00 usually repairs this type of failure, However changing this board is a time consuming thing and takes a lot of Patience. It is buried deep in the set and several other board have to be removed just to get to it
