Question about Hoover U6616-900 WindTunnel Bagless Upright Vacuum
Belt keeps coming of motor shaft when shutting down or pressure is applied on roller in low carpet setting while operating. I placed belt back on and all seems to be in line but when I close it up and start operating it it works until I set it on low carpet or shut it off and then turn back on...any solution would be apprecitaed.
Replace the belt with afresh, proper sized one. Yours is stretched. It will be shiny on the underside. hoover belts are meant to fit snug. Check the bearings on the end of the brush roll to remove dirt and thread. The proper belt will need to be stretched into place using the brush for leverage. Likely that your low carpet is more dense causing enough drag to throw the stretched belt.
