Make sure that there are not any hidden files on the unit. If you are using vista you will need to open my computer and choose the directory on the card. Press the "Alt" key and choose "tools" then "Folder Options" in the options window you will see the tab marked "View". There should be a dot marked "Show hidden files and dirrectories". Now look on your card and see if there are any hidden files on it.
You can also try to reformat the card by right clicking on the card and choose format. This will erase everything.
Hope this helps.

How do i ad pictures from my computer to memory card

Most cameras won't let you copy pictures from a computer to the memory card. However you can use a card reader (either built-in to your computer or attached via USB or FireWire). A memory card so connected will appear to your computer as another hard drive and you can copy files to and from it the same way you normally copy files on your computer.

Can I import camera pics to a Dobly Home Theater laptop, by Acer?

First a nitpick: your memory card is Memory Stick Pro Duo, it's not an SD card. Secure Digital is one specific type of memory card, distinct from xD, CF, Memory Sticks, and other memory card types.

Okay, not that I've got that off my chest, yes you can import pics to your laptop. Just connect a card reader to the USB port and then put your Memory Stick into the reader. Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files.

Card readers should be available at just about any department, electronics, or office-supply store. One important point to remember is to make sure you get a card reader that can read Memory Stick Pro Duos. If you get, for example, an SD card reader, it won't do you any good.

You need to get a memory card. Then, go into the menu and find "copy" which will give you the option to copy the internal memory to the card. Then, use the card reader to download from the card.

When trying to format, copy files into flash, deletinf files,i get the message "remove write protection". so how can i remeve it?

One of two things:
Either your flash drive/card has a hardware copy protect on it (usually in the form of a little tab) Just be sure that it is turned off.
Or
You've somehow managed to tick the "read only" box on your files. Highlight the files, right click, go to properties, and unclick the checkbox for "read only". This may have to be done as administrator.

I'm really opting for the first one, Most people don't realize that their card or stick has copy protection on it and wonder why they can't delete files.

If nothing else works, you can always use a software program called unlocker - http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/Unlocker.shtml
It integrates into windows explorer and allows you to delete files in use, locked files, etc, etc.

Put the SD card in a stand alone card reader, and copy the data off it to your computer. Next, format the SD card, and put it back in your phone.

I need help. I've used my memory card many times with no problems. Now I put it in my laptop and absolutely nothing happens. It shows under "Devices and Removable Storage" but nothing happens....

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. Apparently, you've gotten this far. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Instead of bringing up the properties, simply double-click the disk icon to open it.

Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

My memory card was locked no one has unlocked

I've solved this myself! Using my Canon Pixma MP800 printer
1. I Pressed the Memory Card button
2. Chose Settings
3. Selected Read/Write preferences (or properties)
4. The default was Read Only. I changed this to Read/Write
5. Placed the memory card into the memory card slot.
Hey presto! It now works and I am able to copy off mp3 files onto it.
