This monitor has no sound card that I know of.I just plugged the speakers into the green port and I don't find any thing in the control panel like what you're refering to.This is the P19-2 model.Maybe the older model has those things.Thank you for your imput.I really appreciate it.

Also the monitor has internal speakers as well.

Thank you for your continued help.I have Windows XP.The speakers work perfectly with my old monitor but I get nothing with them when I plug the green plug into the Fujitsu monitor and hook it to my PC.I looked under "my computer" and couldn't find the Device Manager you spoke of. Even a search didn't bring up anything. The Fujitsu has it's own internal speakers which I would like to get working if possible.Thank you again for your time and help.

Are you connecting the speakers to the green port on the sound card. If so, check in "Control Panel" that the P.C can see the sound card and that it is the "Preferred" play back device.

The sound card is in the P.C. That is where the green port is. You should have a cable with a 3.5mm male plug at each end. one end into the green port on the P.C., the other into a 3.5mm socket in the monitor. The HP speakers can plug in the green port instead. If you are getting no sound from either, then the problem has got to be at the P.C. Firstly, go into "Device Manager" under "Computer" and see if the sound card appears under "Sound, video & game controllers" and that it does not have an ! mark against it. Right click on it and select "properties". of it says "The Device is working properly" then windows thinks it is o.k. Go to "Control Panel" and look for "Sound". Double click on this and check under the "Playback" tab that "Speakers" are listed and have a tick against them (Vista). For XP it is "Sound Devices". Both OS's have "Sound" in control panel. Your sound device, whether mounted onto mother board or a seperate card plugged into the motherboard MUST appear in there. I am willing to monitor your progress and help if I can. Confirm Operating System (XP or Vista) if you are still stuck. Ian

John, bear with me. I have just kicked up my old lapyop with XP loaded. I would like you to try the following steps:-

    1. Open Control Panel.

    2. Double-click on "System" (little computer icon).

    3. Click on the "Hardware" tab.

    4. Press the "Device Manager" button. You will now see a list of ALL the hardware in alphabetical order that windows sees.

    5. Go down to "Sound, video and Game controllers" and expand this by pressing the + on the left.

    6. Make sure there is no exclaimation (!) marks here. If there is, you will have to get back to me as this will involve a different proceedure.

    7. If there are no exclaimation marks (or others), take a note of the audio device name, e.g "C-media AC97 Legacy Audio Device".

    8. Leave this window open.

    9. Open "Control Panel" and double click on "Sounds and Audio Devices".

    10. On the volume tab the name of the device windows is using for sound should be identified. e.g "Crystal WDM Audio". This should be the same as listed in "Device Manager".

    11. Ensure there is no tick in the "Mute" box and that there IS on "Place volume icon in the taskbar".

    12. Click on the "Audio" tab. In the "sound Playback" box the default device should be the same as before. (Recording the same).

    13. Press the volume button anywhere and this will bring up a "mixer table" of all sound in and out options. make sure NO ticks in "Mute" boxes.

    14. In the "Speaker Settings" box press the "Advanced" butoon.

    15. Make sure the "speaker setup" is shwing "Desktop stereo speakers". If not Select this from the drop-down list. Press o.k.

    16. Close the "Sound and Devices" box.

    17. You should have a little speaker button in the taskbar now. Make sure there is no red cross thro' it.

    18. If this all shows correct and you have the cable connected correctly from the green port on the P.C. to the 3.5mm hole in the monitor, you should have sound. If not I suspect your sound card/chip has a hardware failure. Please respond. Ian.

Try connecting each monitor to a different desktop/laptop computer, to rule-out the possibility that the video-card on your own computer is the cause of the problem.

My Fujitsu Siemens LL3200T display suddenly looked very white and with poor contrast. I can only correct the display if I adjust the settings within the graphics card driver away from the default setting....

allan943, As a test, try to swap-in an old known good monitor to your pc to verify pc and graphic's card are ok. Or move LL3200T to a known good pc. If pc is ok, then LL3200T may need warranty work or will need trip to shop for repair of internal power supply. When very strange things start to occur on any lcd screen the first place to investigate would be unit's switch-mode-power-supply!!! This unit should have a 3 year warranty on it. Check with Fujitsu-Siemens to see if they will do a refurb swap-out for you. Please respond with additional comment on what you will or plan to do about this lcd display so all other owners will know what to do. 12fixlouie north of Windy City USA

No sound out of my fujitsu siemens B17 . the setting on the screen is : Audio Volume 60% The realtek driver (sound card) is properly installed. When i connect speakers to my pc i have got sounds!

I do not want to offend you with simple comments, yet... did you connect the speaker connections from the computer to the PROPER socket on the monitor? There may be input AND output sockets that look the same. Also, on the monitor there is/are controls for the speaker volume from the monitor which is separate from the volume control on the computer.
I hope this helps.

Pixels look blurred on new Fujitsu Siemens 17inch LCD Monitor

What are you using as a interface between your computer and monitor? It sounds like you may be using a digital analog converter. Example would be a 15 pin dsub VGA to DVI adapter or vise/versa. If your using a purely digital interface like Display Port, DVI, or HDMI then you have a bad controller in your monitor. Try to do warranty claim if this is the case.
