Question about Gigabyte Computers & Internet

Unable to power up System

Having similiar problems...I just bought a new Coolmaster case, GA_MA770-UD3 Motherboard, AMD Phenom II X3 Processor, new Antec 500W power supply, 4GB OCZ Memory and I can't get the machine to power up. I have built several machines in the past, but I am stumped on this one. I am wondering if the F_PANEL connections are accurate in the manual, but I have tried just about every configuration. The made sure the power supply is in the I postion and not the O. I also tried several outlets to confirm that power is coming from the wall. Need some help!

Will the desktop even post? I would remove each component, one at a time, and try powering the pc up each time - i've seen issues w/ a processor/mobo being incompatible, causing the pc to not power up - also have seen issues where the power supply isn't strong enough to power the system...especially w/ the coolmaster cases. Do you have a 1000w supply to try to swap in the machine?

So, first pull the memory - try to get it to post - then h/d, etc.

Good luck - hope this helps!

Processor Support (CPU Support),

http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Product/Product_Detail.aspx?CategoryID=1&DetailID=943&DetailName=Feature&MenuID=1&LanID=0

AMD Phenom II X4 model 920, uses .0875 to 1.425 Volts, (DC),

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_AMD_Phenom_microprocessors#.22Deneb.22_.28C2.2FC3.2C_45_nm.2C_Quad-core.29

That is the average voltage range for the AMD Phenom II X 4 processor.

Look back at the AMD Phenom chart again on Wikipedia, and look especially at the voltage range for the 900e to the 945.
Now look at the ECS CPU Support page again, and you'll see your motherboard supports Phenom II X4 processors from 900e to 945.

Since the 910e and the 925 are supported, I know the technology of the 920 is supported.
The Core architecture and nanometer technology it is based on, is supported.
No BIOS update may be needed.

Yes is the answer.

[NOTE*
That processor can use up to 125 watts of power. You need a decent Power Supply.
That processor also gets H-O-T!
Make sure it has a GOOD cooling system, and the computer case inside, and the Power Supply, inside, are kept clean ]

HI ! I bought a new AMD phenom quad-core 9750 2.40ghz processor and Gigabyte motherboard. I m unable to install Windows and the system automatically shuts down every 20 min and sometimes runs for more...

This processor need better cooling system as it is powerful it need more power so I suggest you to upgrade your Power Supply and buy more efficient processor fan cooler. Also you should check if processor is properly installed on motherboard and there should be some special thermal grease between processor and motherboard (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermal_grease) for better thermal conductivity
