Not seeing the problem fist hand, I can tell you they are going to be rusted bad with calsium and maybe lime build up too. You can try a product like PB Blaster to penetrate it and use a small three fingered gear puller. Be very care full not to over force them, or sense your replace the fauset you can cut through the valve cover behind the handle with a sawsall or hacksaw. But I would try the pb blaster and then the puller first.

When I turn the dial to put shower on the temperature dial is now moving with it so I don't know what temp it is! I have a triton power shower.

Thank you for supplying a picture. The two controls could be binding. Try holding the temperature setting with one hand while turning the shower on with the other. If this doesn't work, you may have to remove the knobs to find what is causing them to bind. The upper knob may be attached too tightly, causing it to bind on the lower knob.

System won't switch to shower

You need a diverter in your spout. The spout will screw off and the new one will screw on. Lift the ball while the water is running and it will divert the water to the shower.

We have a tuscany/Asti tub and shower faucet and we just installed it and when we turn it on the water starts coming out of the shower, without pulling the knob for the shower to turn on. Any ideas?

The knob is most likely binding or just stuck a little try putting a drop or two or oil, WD-40, or even cooking oil on the knob shaft, work the shaft up and down to spread the oil and see how it goes. Worse case you have a cracked knob shaft and then you will have to take it back where you bought it or see if they can give you a knob shaft and replace it, as I said worse case scenario. Good Luck...

Sounds like diverter valve which is your shower handle valve is bad take it apart and check out and replace it if possible because that transfer water to shower head.

I have a Moen shower knob that broke...

You are not the first. Usually you must break the plastic handle to remove it and then you can access the screw and have leverage to hold the brass stem with pliers while you try removing the screw. Caution, do not try to bend the handle to break it off or you will break the brass facet stem. Also, there are two styles of handles: one has a short innercone, the other has a longer inner cone. You need to know this before you purchase a replacement. Goodluck< Macgivor

Water only comes out shower head, won't come back out faucet. The shower plunger only puts water out shower head, not out faucet.

sounds like the diverter is jamed. it may be in the spout or a button in the escheuchon. if spout try to unjam the pull up knob or the pull down ring. if in the escheuchon remove part and replace.
