There was a problem with one of Microsoft's security updates recently and it causes problems with Vista. I had the same problem. Microsoft published a bulletin on this. Do a Google search for "KB973879". and you will find the solution in depth. Basically, all you have to do is start your computer in safe mode and go to control panel and "add remove programs" and delete that security update labeled "KB973879". Windows will reinstall a new version to replace it when it does its next update. Please do a search on Google for that number and you will see what I am telling you is true.

I could not upgrade neither windows XP, Windows 7 of this Product Model: GT5662. Would you assits? Thanks.

Hello kelvinvu, according to the information that I gathered from this computer model, it has Windows Vista 32 bit home premium installed on it. Windows XP is an older operating system so you can't "upgrade" to it. You could however install a fresh copy (more likely completely erasing all your previous information on vista and data files) or you could upgrade to Windows 7. Since you are using "Windows Vista 32 bit home premium", you have to upgrade to "Windows 7 32 bit home premium" or better. So if you were trying to "upgrade" to Windows 7 Home Basic, it will not allow that since it considers that a downgrade in the Operating System. You should actually be able to pop in the Windows 7 Home Premium CD while vista is running and start the upgrade process pretty painlessly that way. Just access the CD and walk through the menus for upgrading Vista to Windows 7. As a reminder, you must use the 32 bit discs. If you try and use the 64 bit discs (a different operating system as far as windows is concerned) you will have to go through the same process of installing a new version of windows (not upgrade). I hope this has solved your specific problem kelvinvu, have a great day!

Vista home premium missing help files

Dont worry if you are missing help files...........just follow these steps...:-
1) get to someother computer which have windows vista premium running. try to find help files in c:/windows directory.
2) Once found copy it into usb and copy those files in your system at the same location from where you have copied them in other computer.
3) Restart system and its done.

Other way is to use vista recovery disk to copy system files ...
Hope it works well for you.........

You said the magic phrase premiume HOME computer...
and the key word VISTA.
I've heard of VISTA pro running this but the home version is really not that robust for the type of gear you have there.
vista just has to many bugs.
go back to xp pro sp2 for good results.
good luck
