Question about Mitsubishi WD-52327 52" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

2 Answers

Getting a loud buzzing noise in the rear of my Mitsubishi wd-52327. The sound is coming from the fan area. Originally i thought the fan was bad but after review the fan seems to be working fine. When trying to turn the TV on it makes the noise and doesn't work. After a short period of time the green ON light goes red and shuts down. Any clues?

I have just experienced the same issue with my mitsubishi WD62525 as well...thought it may have been a lamp issue as well....replaced the lamp with the spare and still have the same symptoms...(only difference is that my timer light just continues to blink green and never turns red???) I cleaned out the rear filter...was not really that dusty so not sure what else it may be????

Is there a large amount of heat coming from the back? I had a similar issue w/ my tv, and it ended up being the lamp - but a trick that i was able to use to extend the life a little longer was to power the tv off, grab a can of compressed air (can get it anywhere, usually just a buck or two) and blast it right into the vents in the back, cleaning out the dust that accumulates from normal usage. If it is, in fact, the lamp, it's not a tough fix - email me if you have any other questions! Good luck!

I think the fan is bad, it makes a lot of noise. Can I replace it?

cmurray12,

You do not have a bad fan, you have a bad optical disc drive. See my tip at http://www.fixya.com/support/r4160054-replace_color_wheel_in_dlp_projection_tv for the replacement procedure and where to get the parts.

Thanks for using FixYa and for the great rating.

Bulb went out for the 2nd time in less than a year on Mitsubishi WD52327. Also making a loud grinding noise. What is my problem?

the grinding noise is from the cooling fan that cools the bulb. It needs to cleaned or replaced. You will need to take the back cover off the set to get at it. If the cooling fan is not doing its job that would cause the short bulb life and the noise

My WD-52525 started a rubbing noise coming from the back area. I figure it's the light engine. Color was off and it won't restart, has a lamp light now. Lamp is 4 months old. Sound like light engine?

This sounds like your color wheel. this will affect the colors on your screen. Do check your lamp though, at 4 months you still should have a good lamp. Unless you have a bad ballast affecting the lamp as well. If you hear a rapid clicking or an electrical buzzing type noise. "ballast"

Buzzing noise from Mitsubishi DLP WD-52327 after replacing bulb

Did your replace lamp come on the screen or did you lose picture? Just because the LED indicator suggest replace lamp it doesn't mean it needs it. If your pix was dull or loss of brightness then replace it, if not then just reset your lamp timer, check your owners manual for instructions.

Mitsubishi WD-52327 Picture flickers and goes blue

In your case I've seen this and it was a electrical issue between the DLP fan and board. The tv could have a problem with the digital tuner and not kicking a code due to low voltage ... it isn't expensive to fix, just hard to diagnose.

Do you smoke? The fans suck in smoke and it gets tar build up on the connections and that causes this in some cases too.
