Any easily accessible key on power on key off power off circuit such as cigarette lighter harness or go directly to fuse panel and install a lead there on the ignition on side 10 to 15 circuit is fine..

I have wired everything correctly to my phoenix gold octane 2.5:2 amp and the remote terminal is not working. i have hooked up another amp to check to see if its the remote line and any other problems but...

Perhaps the PG Octane R needs a bit more power on the remote. Check if connectors are well connected to the wire. There might be some resistant present if the connection is not 100%. (oxidation?)

Fused 12 volt power wire from the battery connects to +12V at the amp. Chassis ground wire connects to gnd at the amp. Switched 12 volt power wire (accessory) (remote turn on from after market radio) connects to rmt at the amp.

I have a linear amp 1600 I ahve power to it but it wont work and what is the remote wire supose to be connected to?

The remote wire is supposed to be connected to the remote output on the back of the head unit that is feeding the amp.
Without the remote wire hook up the amp will not turn on.
Reason for this is, the Head Unit tells the AMP to turn on, without the remote connected the AMP is going to do nothing, find the remote switch wire on the back of your Head Unit and run the wire to the remote input on the AMP.

Green light, No Power

Disconnect the remote wire and make a jumper at the amp from the 12v + to the remote input and see if you get the same results. If yes, then you probably have a bad ground point. It might not be able to handle the transfer load it's receiveing. If no, then you have an issue with your remote wire or power wire. Check for any kinks or pinches in the wire.

Wiring installation on Majestic amplifier total 60watts 2x30 model# ma-60

To install the amp you need a amp wiring kit they range from $15 and up depends on how many watts u have.Once you have the wiring kit start with the ground wire it needs to be no longer then 24 inches long the shorter the better find a good ground in the trunk or where ever you want to install the amp make sure its metal to metal no plastic paint or any other debrie is in the way of the metal. If you can't find a paint free surface all you will need to do to fix this is sand off some of the paint and then ground the amp.The ground wire needs to be connected to the amp before any other wire once you have the ground connected then connect the battary wire make sure you have the right size inline fuse on the battary wire that also depends on the watts of the amp.once you have those 2 wires connected then u will need to pull the stereo out of the dash and hook up the remote wire to the power antanna wire if you have a factory car stereo and don't have a power antanna you can try one of these solutions 1st one Run the remote wire from the battary wire on the amp and use a toggle switch between the remote and battary wire or you can run the remote wire from the amp to the fuse box of the car and hook it up to a fuse that only works when the key is turned on.Once you have all this hooked up its time to hook up the subs/speakers on the amp it should indicate if its bridgable it will show lines from one positive and one negative and at the top of the lines it will say bridge but if not the just connect the speakers positive to positve and negative to negative. If it is a bridgeable amp i would only recommend hooking it up bridged if you are hook up subs if you are using 6x9's on the amp you don't need to bridge the amp.If u have any more ?'s just ask i can help with this i've done this alot.

on the back of he cd player is the wire harnest there should be a SOLID blue wire on there take the remote wire connect it to that and run it to your amp and put it where the amp says remote. there is an easier way you can hook up your power to the amp then take the remote wire and just run it directly to the power wire on the amp you should only need a couple inches of wire and it will work fine

How do I hook up amplifier?

Well make sure you have enough power wire, remote wire, RCA's make sure they are long enough as well. Now depending on wattage the amp can kick out determins on the power wire size. Run a wire bout a foot from the battery + terminal and add a in-line fuse (once again depends on the power of the amp) now run the rest of the power wire to the back. (along with the remote wire and RCA's) Now hook up your RCA's on the sub output, (If no sub output hook up to the rear) this will connect to your amp RCA's input. Now for the remote wire, wire it up to the BLUE remote wire or power intena, this will go to your remote terminal on the amp. from thier all thats left is your speaker... Hope this was helpful

Amp

Unfortunately, I can't find the manual for that amp online, so I'm flying blind. If there's anything similar to "system control", that is essentially the same thing as the remote.

Another thing to try is try connecting the +12V wire to one of the "+" inputs at a time. If one of those connections is the remote, hooking +12V up to it but not the other will cause the amp to not turn on. If the amp turns on no matter what "+" input you put +12V on, then we know both "+" inputs are probably are just for +12V.

It's also possible that the DIN plug has the remote as one of the connections in it. Don't know that without the manual.

But, if the amp really, truly has no remote wire connection, you'll need to get a SPST switch or relay to turn the amp on/off. Otherwise, without a switch or remote, your amp would be on 24/7 and drain your battery in no time.

Remote wire hook up

The Remote wire should connect to the remote turn on lead from you radio(most aftermarket radios use a blue and white or a blue wire for the remote turn on). This wire will send a 12v signal to the amp from the radio when the radio is turned on. You can disconnect the remote turn on lead from the amp and jump a wire from the terminal marked battery to the remote turn on terminal just to see if the amp powers up. Do not leave it this way however because your amp will not shut off and your battery will go dead.
