I have the solution. first you must take it apart. Be gentle, the case will slid up, its pretty tight. Next, remove the harddrive and the ribboncable attached to the hard drive, its a set of pins. If you notice it looks like a compactflash card, thats because it is! Just plug it into a cf camera and format it or a computer through a reader or through most printers because they generally have a card reader that connects it to your camera.

Re: Please Free Up 10MB space for database

You can not format this unit without connecting it to a PC. Has anybody found a solution to this problem. Sounds like it should be fixable. I called the company and they said that the H100A is no longer being made, and if it is not able to connect to the PC then there was nothing they could do for me. I have my doubts that these people answering phones are very savy when it comes to hands on tech support.

My m.p.3 phillips gogear vibe now says :no space to build database, please connect to p.c. and create 100 mb free space, then turns off, please tell me what to do to get this to work again?

Firstly, I'd suggest that you do a soft reset of your player. You will find the reset button next to the 'power on' button on the side of the player. Please hold the Reset button using a pen tip or other sharp object for 10 seconds. Now turn it on.

If that doesn't work, I'd suggest that you format your player or repair it using Philips songbird. Contents may be removed by using this function. So make sure to back up your contents.

On your computer desktop, double-click "My computer". Double-click on the MP3 player's icon. Right-click on the Internal Storage icon and then select "Format".

Launch Songbird and then connect your player to your computer. Select "Repair" under the "Tools" menu. Follow the instructions given by the pop-up windows to perform the repair process.

Hope this works.

My mp3 wont format.

You are limited on how you can format the device without using command line parameters, but I assure you that needing to format the device is highly unlikely. The device needs a certain amount of available space to profile and create the database (stores the metadata about the media you have on the device to display it on the device). Try removing some media so that you have at least 50MB of free space (to be sure you have enough space available).

If this problem persists, then there is likely a file on the device that is corrupting the player or the flash itself has gotten corrupt, but based on the message you are being displayed, this too is unlikely.

How can i free up 10mb ?

The only way you can free up space o the player is to remove some music on it or better remove all the music first and save it to your computer and then put it back again....

Not enough space for music db. Please free 6 MB.

If you have formatted there is no music on the player. You will have to re-sync any the music. Set the USB mode to MTP, then Use Windows Media Player 10 or higher to sync player.

RCA h100

u will lose all the songs and have to reset the volume controls 2 how u like them and put songs back on u could either reset it by holding down the power button for 10 seconds and if that dont work or if u dont want to do that u could plug it into ur computer with ur usb cord and then go to a folder named 'my computer'(witch u can find when u hit the start button on ur dock)open that file and then u should see an icon that looks something like an mp3 and if u dont see it right away give it a minuet or 2 then it should be labeled with what ur mp3 is RIGHT CLICK on it then click on FORMAT and it should reformat it so it should work im not sayin it will but it might.good luck!!

E280r MP3 player wont sync songs!

If your device is getting too close to its capacity, it will effect the menu on the device. You need at least 6-10MB of free space for the "music database". If thats not it, one or more of your files may be corrupt. To resolve this, you should format the device to delete all the music, then transfer it back to the player. To format, right click on the device under My Computer and select format. Please add to the question if that didnt work. Best of Luck.
