Self propelled not working

The weakest link in your problem is the belt, and it's path. The belt comes off the engine crankshaft and goes to the self propel shaft at front or back of your mower. I believe your problem is that your belt has broken, or just slipped off of a pulley. Check the drive belt and you should be OK. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

The self-propelled mechanism on my EZ Walk Craftsman does not work. Anyone have a solution?

What you can try is to open the case surrounding the self-propelled drive and make sure that the belt has not either slipped off or has broken. Depending on the model, the case has two or four screws securing it to the frame of the mower. If the belt has slipped off, you can unscrew the tension screw and slip the belt back on and then tighten the tension screw so that there is enough tension on the belt to keep it from slipping off.

If the belt has become broken, you can purchase a new one from Lowes or Home Depot for approximately 15.00. The change out procedure is pretty straight forward and shouldn't take longer than 5-10 minutes.

If the belt is fine (not loose or broken) it could be a gear problem in the drive wheel, in that case you are in a little bit more trouble than simply replacing the belt.

Hope this information helps.

Thanks,

Belt jump off the drive pulley

I don't have this kind of mower. But I was faced with the same problem recently. I got my belt back on by taking a large wrench and affixing it to the bolt head holding the pulley which you want to slip the belt on. Hold the belt firmly against the pulley and turn the wrench and the belt in the grove will walk around the pulley until it slips in place.

Drive wheels dont seem to propel mower

SOME SELF PROPELLED MOWERS HAVE A SHEAR PIN IN THE DRIVE BOX THAT MAY HAVE SHEARED . IF THE MOWER GETS A LOT OF USE THIS PIN CAN SHEAR. ALSO SOME HAVE A FRICTION DISC, LIKE A CLUTCH THAT MAY BE SLIPPING. CHECK THESE TWO THINGS CAN'T TELL MUCH MORE WITHOUT A MAKE AND MODEL
