Question about Dell Inspiron 519 Desktop PC Bundle

1 Answer

My new computer will not play videos from the web.

My new computer will not play videos from any websites. (YouTube, ESPN, AOL, etc) When I try to play one, it runs a few seconds then pauses, funs a few more seconds then pause a few seconds. Dell says it's not their problem, that this is related to a third party site. They said that my browser might not be set to accept the videos. They want me to sign up for their online help for $239 per year and they will fix the problem. Any suggestions?

Your problem might be that your Internet connection is too slow. If that's not the problem, then it could be your anti-virus program kicking in when you try to open a video. Try turning it off and then try your videos. Also make sure you have the latest version of the Microsoft media player and Flash player updated. Video uses a lot of resources so if your computer has any performance issues, they will show up when trying to do something that is resource intensive like playing videos. So the problem might not be the videos at all, but your system might need defragmenting and cleaned up to get it performing at its best.

WHEN USING YOU TUBE THE VIDEOS SEEM TO STICK AND THEN START AGAIN and then stick again and start up again ....why?

They aren't downloading quickly enough to play smoothly. This can be an issue with YouTube or your computer. Try a few of these suggestions:
- Play the video in a lower resolution. The menu is in the bottom right of the video, choose a non-HD resolution and it will download much faster.
- Stop other downloads. If you are downloading multiple files/videos/large websites (especially those with animations in Flash), your connection may not be fast enough to support this. Pause a few of the downloads.
- Pause the video and wait until the light red bar fills up. This will let the video download fully before you begin viewing.
- Reboot your browser and/or computer. Sometimes they just need to clear their heads. =)
- Get a faster internet connection.

Hope that helps, if it does, please give me a few thumbs up!

Unable to watch you tube videos

Start from repairing your Windows registry and fixing your Windows errors that become the cause of many browser and applications errors causing a conflict situation.
* Test your computer for viruses and spyware.
* Run SpeedTest to test whether you have sufficient bandwidth available to smoothly play YouTube videos without causing the site to run slower.
* Disconnect your internet and then reconnect it to know why is YouTube slow and whether it is because of the poor internet at your side.
* Disable ads through some of the browser plug in that will allow you to run fewer background services while you are playing videos online.
* Try to change your flash player version. Although the YouTube has started to stream videos through a new technology there is still a large number of web sites using the flash platform. So it is a nice idea to try to change the flash player version to play videos without crashes and error messages.
* Try to change your browser. One good browser to play YouTube videos is Chrome. If you have not tried that go for it. Also contact your ISP provider if they are limiting your bandwidth at specific durations of the day.
The above solutions will most likely fix and answer your question why is YouTube slow on your computer. However, it is highly recommended you follow all the guidelines especially optimizing your PC Windows for internal registry errors through a top registry cleaner reginout

When I play a video there is no sound, the volume on the computer and speakers work but not on youtube

Hello Sir
please try these steps.
If you are on one of those sites and you have a movie played, right click the movie and choose options. Flash player by Macromedia may have disables sound in flash which is basically what those sites you said use to play videos.
or
go to tools, internet option, advanced tab, scroll down to multimedia and put a tick in "play sounds in web pages"
