Sorry, that it happened. It's often possible to dry the computer out by sitting it in the sun for several hours. Most people make the mistake of trying to start their computer after spilling something on it and then it gets damaged for good. If you dry it out first, it might start up fine.
To remove the hard drive, every laptop is a little different. I always type the model number into the manufacturers support website to get instructions if any doubt. Most laptops allow you to figure it out by looking for screws on the bottom that you take out and then the case will open and you can remove the drive. The newer laptops require a special Torx screwdriver to turn the screws. Remove the ribbon cable very carefully from the hard drive when you get to it.

If the laptop could be fully dried, you might be in luck.
If the the laptop was powered on when the Clorox was spilled, chances of a system electrical short would very likely.
But if you need to recover data from the hard drive - easy.

How to Recover Deleted Files from Seagate Hard Drive in Windows XP?

Accidently delete important filesusing Shift+Delete keys in Windows XP? Can't get valued pictures back from therecycle bin after you emptied it? How to retrieve data from 'not recognized'hard drive and reconstruct inaccessible partition?

You'reLuck!Deleting or formatting won't make the data erased permanently.Thosedeleted data are still stored in the hard drive. They're just invisible orinaccessible.Only the FAT or NTFS table is erased (the information about wherethose data were saved), but the real data are still intact there in sectors ofthe hard drive.
So long as those deleted data are not overwritten by new data, it's highlypossible to recover them. The most effective way is to rely onsome data recovery program.

Tenorshare DataRecovery is a powerful data recovery program that can easily recover lost, damaged, formatted and accidently deleted data from your laptop or computerhard disk and all kinds of USB media drives. It can recover data afterdeeply scanning your hard drive to look for lost data you accidentally deletedor formatted.
This program is equipped with four critical modules:"deleterecovery", "format recovery", "partition recovery" and"raw recovery". It can recover data after deeply scanning yourstorage device to look for lost data due to drives crash, virus corruptedpartitions, system sabotage, physical damage etc.
It supports for almost all Windows systems like Windows XP,Windows7,Vista,2000,2003,NT and common file systems (FAT12, FAT16,FAT32 and NTFS).You can get ithere: http://www.any-data-recovery.com/index.htm

It can RecoverLost Data Due to

Accidental deleting

» "Shift + Delete" without backup
» "Delete All" when deleting useless files
» Cut files instead of copying and pressing"Cancle" button
» Emptying Recycle Bin after delection
Formatting
» "Media/Drive is not formatted would you liketo format now?"
Virus infection/attack
Unexpected power off
Others
» Factory setting of device
»System reinstalling but want to retrieve the oldfiles
» Inaccessible partition or drive
» Dead hard drive
» Losing files during transferring files fromstorage device to PC/laptop
» Pulling out card while the camera is on
» Removing out storage devices not in "saferemove the drive"
» Turning off the camera during a write process

Then,howto retrieve deleted files?

Withinfour steps, you can get back your data:
1.Select deleted recovery. It will take you a few minutes to scan your storagedevice;
2. heck the deleted datayou want to recover;
3.Select a path folder for the recovered files;
4.Click "OK" to finish recovery.

Onemore tip:

If the hard drive can't be detected(means can't showup in 'My Computer' as a drive letter like C: drive),you can try this way.Putthe hard drive in a zip-lock bag and put it in the freezer for 2-3 hours. Thenwhile it's still cold plug it into the computer. If it fails, you will have to go to a recoveryoffice but let's hope not because it will cost you a lot of money and whetherthey can recover the data or not is not guarantee.

Hp g72 notebook power not turn on

Step 1:
A laptop that won't respond to its own power button naturally horrifies its owner. Panic won't help you figure out what's wrong with your laptop thinking about it and taking action will. You may still be able to recover your data and repair your machine without needing to send it in for expensive repairs, but you must develop an action plan

Significance b> When a laptop stops turning on, it can mean any number of things. But the most likely culprit is some kind of hardware issue. Check the battery first to see if it is seated properly. If not, remove it from its seating and push it firmly back until you hear an audible click. Check the reference that came with your laptop or the manufacturer's website if you are uncertain of how to do this. If this does not fix the issue, try removing the battery entirely and running the laptop plugged in. If this works, it's likely that the battery is the problem and should be replaced. b> Identification b> If the laptop still doesn't work, try replacing the adapter. Purchase a new one at a discount laptop supply website like Spare Parts Warehouse, linked in the references below. If your laptop's lights do not turn on at all when you plug in your existing power cord, that could be the issue. b> Prevention/Solution b> Re-seat your laptop's individual components. Shocks and other dislocations can unseat hardware components and prevent your laptop from booting up properly. Even if none of the components appear to be displaced, re-seating may get your laptop to turn on again properly. Consult your laptop's manual for instructions specific to your machine and for diagrams that will help you identify each component. b> Considerations b> Smell your laptop. If you detect the distinctly pungent scent of burnt silicon, it's likely that your laptop has become damaged by overheating. Follow your reference manual for instructions on how to open up your laptop casing. Look for melted components. If an isolated component has melted, you may be able to replace it and have your laptop working again without needing to send it in for extensive repairs. If the melting isn't localized, you may have to either have it repaired or purchase a replacement. b> Potential b> If your laptop still doesn't work, recover your data. You may need to either install your laptop hard drive in another laptop or purchase a laptop hard drive adapter kit from a computer supply store. That will enable you to transfer your data off of the laptop hard drive onto another one. To ensure that you do not lose your data in the future, back up your information regularly on a CD or DVD or onto a networked hard drive. Mobile hard drives are more vulnerable to failure than other ones. Transport your laptop in a proper carrying case to protect it from shocks and bumps.

My computer drive crashed. How can I retrieve the data?

If the operating system program was all that crashed, then yes, you may be able to recover data. If the hard drive itself failed totally, then your only possible option is to take it to a data recovery specialist. They can often recover data off these devices as they have special tools and software to do it. They are expensive, though, so unless the data you are looking to recover is very important to you, it;s probably not worth the cost. Now if the hard rive itself still runs, but just won't run Windows, you can remove the hard drive and connect to to another PC as an add-on drive and access the files that way.

My hard disk has an error and computer cannot boot. what should i do?

first, recover your files. You can recover files with file recovery software like asoftech data recovery. download the software from
http://download.cnet.com/Asoftech-Data-Recovery/3000-2248_4-75328850.html?part=dl-75328850&subj=dl&tag=button

I've had to use it many times in the past but in this case you need to plug that drive into another system as an external drive or slave drive and run the software from there. It will rebuild the drive and hopefully recover the files.

After you get back your files, you can then format the drive and reinstall your system.

My hard drive is not working-(hitachi HTS541616J9SA00 ATA DEVICE)

If it has failed then it is unlikely you can recover anything from the drive.
There is an old trick, remove the drive from the laptop, put it into a freezer bag and place it into the freezer compartment of your fridge for at least one hour. Remove it and insert back into the laptop and if it boots up then back up your data before it fails again.
If it doesn't work, there are data recovery companies that can recover data from failed hard drives but it will cost you an arm and a leg for their service.
You need a new hard drive to make your laptop reliable again.

Cannot Access my data, even if my laptop detects the drive when plugged

you can try some data recovery software. You can see
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Asoftech-Data-Recovery/290956907592436?sk=info
It tells the steps how to perform data recovery.

If above does not work, you may have to format the hard drive (use quick format), and then use above mentioned software to scan again the hard drive and recover your files.
