Hi there,

If your computer has an SD memory card reader, you may take the SD card out from camera the read/copy it directly to your computer.

The only other way is to transfer the photos from your SD card to a CD or DVD and then you can use that CD or DVD to transfer the pictures to any computer you want. Some computers have an SD slot in the front, so you don't need a USB drive in that case. You can also go to a photo store or even a kiosk photo machine that you put your SD card in and it will develop the photos and you can get a CD sent to you from Kodak or whoever owns the machine. USB drives can be bought for $10 or less now, so maybe the easiest thing would be to get one.

i think you need to put a SD card into it either pre loaded with pictures or load them to it via the cable and a computer ,although its easier to load direct on the computer to the SD card then put this into the viewer

How to easily download Pictures from Digital Camera

Many people are having trouble downloading the digital pictures that they take on their digital cameras to their computer. This can be a very simple procedure by doing things just a bit differently then most of the digital camera instructions tell you to do it.

I seems that every digital camera manufacturer wants you to download your pictures by hooking the digital camera to the computer through some type of a wire. While this will work for many cases, the digital camera then also causes your computer to download or have you install other drivers that can be unstable and load your computer up with more stuff, that just causes it to run slower. There is a very simple way to avoid all of the problems and very easily download your pictures.

The first thing that you need to do is to find out what type of media card your camera saves the digital images on. Some cameras use a media card or stick that is brand specific, but many digital cameras are now using a simple SD Card to store the pictures on. No matter what form your camera uses there are card readers that can read the card without it being in the digital camera. By removing this card and installing it directly into a card reader in your computer you can easily access the pictures without all of the other problems.

Many newer computers are installing a number of different card readers directly into the computer. If you have the correct reader installed in your computer already then just insert the card into the reader and then if the card does not show up, just look for it in your start menu under "computer". It will be visible under the "removable storage" devices in the menu.

If you do not have a card reader installed in your computer, you are still okay. You can purchase a card reader for your specific card easily. They are readily available and do not cost very much. I use an SD Card reader that looks like this.

I also use a separate USB Adapter so that I can plug many USB devices into my computer even though I do not have enough USB Ports in my computer to handle all of them at one time. Do not worry, the computer will still recognize them all and you can still access them all easily.

Once you have the card reader plugged into your computer, then just insert the card into the USB card reader and then go to your computers start menu. Find the "computer" and click on it. Then find the card reader under "removable storage devices" and click on it. Then follow through clicking on the prompts till you start to see you pictures being loaded. You can then just delete, copy or move the pictures just as you would any other file on your computer.

One last thing to remember. If you are having trouble accessing the digital pictures or removing them from the card, make sure that the card is not "locked". If you look closely at this picture, you can see the word "lock" and an arrow. If the little tab on the side of the card gets pushed towards the "lock" position you will not be able to do anything with the digital pictures on the card. Move the tab to the forward position "unlocked" and you will be able to do what you want to do.

This will give you an easier way to download your digital pictures without all of the problems that the camera drivers will give you. You will eliminate many potential problem spots by doing it this way and it will work just as well for you!

I just bought the DANE-ELEC Micro SD. It comes with the Micro Card and the USB and the SD Adapter. I am trying to get the pictures from my phone to my computer. There are no instructions so I do not...

Put the Micro SD card into your phone and transfer the pictures to it. Once you have transferred the pictures, take the card out of your phone and put it into the SD Adapter and then into the USB Adapter. Once you have done that plug the USB Adapter into your computer and wait for it to load. After waiting a few seconds, click start, my computer, then double click on the SD card icon. Your pictures should load and you should be able to transfer them to your computer.

Can i print from my computer without the usb 2.0 cable

To print documents from your computer you will need to have it connected via USB. If you just want to print pictures you can load them on to an SD card (or any of the other supported cards for this printer), plug the card into the printer's card reader and print directly from the printer.

If you want to be able to print without using USB you should look into wireless printers such as the Kodak ESP 7250.

My dog had my 1 gb SD card in his mouth about 30 seconds, now it won't load on my computer. Can I recover the pictures on the card?

Are there any visible bite marks on the card? Unfortunately due to the sensitive nature of SD cards in general, the likely-hood of you being able to recover your information looks grim. I would take your card to a qualified computer tech with A+ certification. Without seeing your card personally, I cannot give an accurate solution.

Cannot get pictures from my camera

If you can view the pictures on the preview of the camera itself then the pictures are safe. It is possible the photos reside in the INTERNAL camera memory rather than on the SD card. You may have to have the camera transfer them.

It is also possible that the SD card is NOT compatible with your camera.

What I would do is to procure a seperate SD card reader (they are very inexpensive) and remove the card from the camera and read it using the external interface.

NOTE: There are high density SD cards that are usually not compatible with older cameras... they are marked HD.

Unable to transfer photos from camera to lap top. coolpix L2

i have seen a couple of coolpix cameras that no longer work with the USB link ... i though that maybe the "picture project" software had to be loaded first .. but in my case that didnt help .. nor did a new USB cable .. now i am thinking that the USB port is easily damaged (probably from static discharge) ... i got things at least workable by getting a "USB to SD card adapter" .. i just plug in the SD card to get the images .. the single card adapter is small, low cost and works with the laptop nicely (portable) .. that works out good for me since i can be editing a card with some pictures while someone else is still taking pictures with a second card .. ..then we swap .. the adapter is a little easier to carry around than the USB cable as far a portability is concerned .. and that extends the useful life of the camera without the expense of repairs ..
