Question about HP Officejet 5610 All-In-One InkJet Printer

2 Answers

HP Officejet all in one printer L7780. I cannot reassemble the automatic document feeder. I removed the pick assembly to clean, and 2 other plastic parts popped out. I cannot figure out where to replace them. One part is black, curved, with a u-shaped cutout on one edge, and two small rectangular cutouts on the opposite edge. The green part is about the size of 2 postage stamps, and has two hooks on one edge which appear to fit exactly into the rectangular cutouts on the black piece.

Nothing is broken. The parts need to be reassembled.

The Document feeder is a detachable part for most of the printer that has this function, it seems like in your case the feeder is broken.
Call HP for this one and they will replace that part for you.

My HP Officejet Pro L7780 faxes off & on. Motor is running w/in ADF, but the pick assembly does not grab paper

There should be a textured seperator pad, if that's worn out, replace it. Also check the ADF rollers should not be smooth. You may need to just replaced the ADF maintenance kit. It should include the roller assembly and seperator pad.

Multiple pages feed when printing on hp 7410

  • If the automatic document feeder (ADF) does not pick up any pages at all, the rollers inside the automatic document feeder need to be cleaned.
  • If the automatic document feeder picks up multiple pages instead of single sheets, the separator pad inside the automatic document feeder needs to be cleaned.
SolutionLoad one or two sheets of unused plain white full-size paper into the document feeder tray, and then press Start Copy Black to pull the pages through the automatic document feeder. The plain paper releases and absorbs residue from the rollers and separator pad.note.pngNOTE:If the automatic document feeder does not pick up the plain paper, try cleaning the front roller. Wipe the roller with a soft lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water. If the problem persists, or the automatic document feeder does not pick up the plain paper, clean the rollers and separator pad manually. Follow the procedures below to remove the face plate from the front of the automatic document feeder, access the pick assembly inside the automatic document feeder, clean the rollers or separator pad, and then reattach the face plate.

  3. Lift the lid on the HP all-in-one, and locate the notch near the top right edge of the lid backing. Figure 2: Locating the notch near the lid backingc00222494.gif 1 - Notch 2 - Lid backing
  4. Place one or two fingers in the notch, as you lower the lid of the HP all-in-one. Keep your fingers in the notch until the lid is almost closed. Figure 3: Inserting fingers into the notchc00222495.gif
  5. Push against the top of the face plate with your thumb as you pull the bottom away from the right side of the HP all-in-one with your fingers. Use a slight twisting motion to help release the face plate on the right side.
CAUTION: Do not pull the face plate all the way off yet. There is a plastic catch on the far left inside of the face plate that helps secure the face plate in place. If the face plate is pulled straight off, the plastic catch on the inside of the face plate might be damaged. 6. Slide the face plate to the left until the plastic catch on the left side is not touching any part of the HP all-in-one, then pull the face plate away from the device. 3. Use the damp cloth to wipe any residue off of the rollers or the separator pad.
  4. If the residue does not come off using distilled water, try using isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol.
  5. Use the blue-green handle to lower the pick assembly.
Reattaching the face plate of the ADF Follow the steps below to reattach the face plate to the front of the automatic document feeder.
  1. Hook the face plate onto the left side of the HP all-in-one so that the plastic catch on the far left inside of the face plate catches on the notch on the front of the automatic document feeder. The auto document feeder does not pick up the paper

The pickup roller is probably dirty. Take a clean sheet of paper and put a small amount of rubbing alcohol at the end. Take that same end and place it in the automatic feeder and attempt to feed through for a few times. This should clean the pickup roller and allow paper to be picked up. Wait a few minutes for the alcohol to dry and attemt to feed a clean sheet of paper. You might need to repeat the process a few times

The auto-document feeder on our HP L7780 OfficeJet Pro printer doesn't pick up the papers anymore. The 'gears' are spinning, but the papers aren't advancing. I've cleaned the rollers, but that still didn't...

I put an elastic band around the black roller as it doesnt seem big enough and it works nearly every time now. Have done this with another L7780 Pro as well which fixed it completely on that one.

My HP printer paper get stuck in top feeder whenever I try to fax

Lift the cover to the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) and remove any paper debris from the rollers. Also, clean the rollers with a very damp cloth and a dab od dish washing detergent.
Also, check to see that the spring loaded lever is in place.

Clear the jam from the automatic document feeder (ADF)
  1. Make sure the product is turned off and the power cord is unplugged.
  2. Grasp the upper edge of the automatic document feeder (ADF) assembly and open it.
  3. Raise the roller assembly.
  4. Gently remove any jammed paper from the ADF.
  5. Lower the roller assembly.
  6. Close the ADF assembly.
  7. Plug the power cord back into the product.
  8. Press the Power button (c01346625.gif ) to turn the product on.
  9. Try the print job again.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
