Question about Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-32HS420 32" TV
MY Sony KV-32HS420 stand by timer blinks 7 times then pauses, and the TV won't come on for several days, and when we finally get it to come on then the timer blinks 5 times. I found out what the 7 blinks means (horizontal deflection stopped--- at least one IC on D board needs to be replaced). What does the 5 blink mean when it's on. I'm afraid to turn it of because it'll be a while before it comes on again. If it even does. I think this is a fairly common problem for this model.
Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.
If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.
Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device, in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.

TDA 8362B IC which have vertical freq.output is at pin no.43. (vert.osc) caution for fixing this problem minimise brightness to avoid crt burn. proceed as follows 1 if you are getting sawtooth at output of ic tda 8362 pin 43 then check 1 supply at vertical output ic from eht. 2 yoke connector loose . 3 check vertical output ic parts. 4 finally vertical ic. please check for normal output from power supply even though fault gets rectified just for protection. good luck.

SOURCE: 6 horizontal lines
I would look for a Vertical circuit failure. Most likely is the vertical output IC and or open resistor off the hv transformer. Definitely look for any loose solder connections around the Vertical output IC.
Hope this helps,

You have what is commonly known as a shutdown problem. It's an overload in one of the internal circuits. It needs to be looked at by a professional tv reapir person.

Occurs when either:

I have the serrvice manual if you need it. Let me know where to send it to.
