How to factory reset mpd18

Heres how to restore your MPD24 factory defaults using the Vyzex software:

1. Plug in your MPD24 with USB cable, and then open the Vyzex software.

2. Click File > Open

3. Select Factory SET.SQS, and click open it.

4. You should now see BFD Lite and other details on the Vyzex MPD image.

5. As long as you're on the DATA tab, you should see a PUT SET button available. Press it to transfer the factory presets to your MPD24.

6. An overwrite warning will be displayed. Press YES to overwrite your damaged MPD24 presets with the factory presets.

You'll see a progress bar filling up for about 10 seconds, and then once it disappears, that's it!

You're all done - Enjoy!

I have got dust from a barn ceiling in the sliding part of the platter on both of my technics sl dz 1200, it is making a nasty noise. How can I get the dust out. Cheers!

Unplug your turntables.

The first thing to do is compressed air. A can of compressed air can be purchased at any hardware store. Blow out each fader (the sliding part of the platter) to the best of your ability. The dust in this fader is causing the nasty noise.

Next, you need to get a can of Contact Cleaner. The best stuff to buy is called "DeOxit". Amazon carries it. Place the red straw onto the spray nozzle, and work the nozzle in between the dust guards where the metal shaft comes out of the fader (the knob of the fader attaches to the metal shaft) and spray the DeOxit. Once sprayed, work the fader back and forth rapidly 10-15 times, across its full range of motion. Let the DeOxit dry (5 minutes) and do it again. Do this for both tables, and the faders will be cleaned of the dust contaminate.

If this problem comes back, the faders may need to be replaced.

While pushing the fader knob on after cleanig the number 5 and 6 faders seemed to shift from behind the panel and those chanels are completely out.

You may have destroyed the faders. If excessive force is applied to put the knob on, then the resistance element may be cracked. ALWAYS only put the button on at one end of the throw of the fader. The channelfaders appear to be 10K, probably audio taper. Most are made by ALPS. You can probably get replacement from either or Often the tab for the knob is too long and has to be cut off and de-burred. Removing the faders from the board REALLY requires a soldering station/de-soldering station as it is easy to damage the circuit board. Do NOT use solderwick as you would need too much heat to remove solder from the back side... you need a solder ****** type. Mesure the throw of the slider as a first step to find replacement. Next, match the hole pattern, and then next the resistance value and finally the taper, in this case, audio.
Pay attention to the type of tab for the knob...
It is a lot of work removing all the knobs, all the nuts on the 1/4 inch jacks, and screws, including those for the XLR jacks.

I need a part. a fader for a SR24?4?2 VLZ PRO.

Removing all the knobs from a section of the board where the bad fader is can be a hassle.and sometimes some of the nuts from jack or screws from some connectors.

You are probably better to order the part from Mackie to get the exact part. Most are made by ALPS and I get ones for some equipment from or However, it does take a bot o knowledge to get the correct part and sometimes requires cutting the shaft of one that is too long.
One MUST match the mounting holes, resistance value, length of throw AND the "taper". Yours will probably be a standard "Audio taper" for the main output.

I think my crossfader stop working for some reason. when im on side B i get sound then i slide over to side A and i still get sound from side be,,, all the assign are right also the bass mid and hi kill...

I suspect one end of the crossfader pot has broken from the element. The fader probably costs less than $5.

You likely will have to remove all the knobs and some screws to seperate the board with the fader from the front panel so you can replace the fader.

VERIFY the pot is bad with an ohmmeter before dis-assembling however.

You MAY be in luck. It looks like the cross fader has a connector which MIGHT allow you to remove it or certainly only a small board for replacement, seeing these take abuse.

It appears that the cross fader is a dual 100K type B taper.

I have a behringer xenyx 2442 and the main output fader no longer works. Each individual channel fader now seems to go direct to the main mix and appears to bypass the main fader

The utput fader has probably been broken. If the knob takes a hit, it breaks the resistance element. The part is inexpensive but it takes a lot of work to access and replace the part.
