Hello there:
I really dont think you wrecked it, It has a fuse that sits inside of the casing towards thefront all you will need to do is romove the outer case from the back and replace the fuse and you should be fine ok?
best regards michael

My sharp R409Y*A microwave overheats after 4 min every time and shuts itself off for a few min. It will turn itself back on, but if I use it right away, it will shut itself off again quicker.

I would say your cooling ran is not running, or your vent holes are blocked, or (if equipped) a filter is blocked.

Without the cooling fan, the magnetron overheats and its TCO (thermostat) shuts down all power to the oven until it cools back down to a safe temperature, then power is restored.

Serial number 112Km00462. If overheated and power goes off it safe to use when power comes back on?

The magnetron thermal protector probably shut the oven down. Magnetrons don't like it when their load impedance is too low (empty oven or popcorn) and they get quite warm. Operating an oven empty also shortens the life of the magnetron.

Ran the microwave shut down. Is there a reset button

You could have burned something out on unit. Check fuse or contact GE. Look in manual for trouble shooting tips.

I think i ruined my microwave

Yeah, that's usually bad. But you might have gotten lucky, it's possible that a thermal fuse (sometimes called a TCO or Thermal Cut-Off divice) may have opened up; shutting off electricity tothe microwave. But if it ran for 15 minutes, it's very likely that the magnetron tube burned up. You would really need to have a professional look at it to decide if it's worth repairing or not.

Whole unit will not show power... OUtlet shows power so unit has power... Are there any fuses in the unit? Would they power down the whole unit if they were blown?

Ok....first you don't have a model or make, but yes there should be use, sometimes replacable, inside, if it blows because purhaps the unit was ran empty, it would power off the whole unit, i had a unit that would shut itself off during cooking, and never come back on for days, this was a problem witht the power supply of the circuit board, if you have no worries, purhaps bang on the side, with out denting it, and see if it comes back on, if it does don t use it.
