Open your cabinet(box) and replace CMOS battery, then turn on your machine, it would work fine.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How do i know if my bios is corrupt

I doubt that you have corrupt BIOS - the BIOS code is held in an EEPROM module which is unlikely to have been altered unless you have suffered some form of electrical failure such as a power surge or lightning strike.

If your computer does not boot nor show the initial boot messages from the BIOS such as memory count, device detection, USB devices or a HP splash screen, then you may have a more fundamental hardware problem.

To reset your BIOS configuration, you could just remove the CMOS battery - usually a CR2032 button cell fitted on the motherboard - for a couple of minutes then refit it again - this will set the BIOS configuration back to default and if the computer does boot, you should get an error message because the Date and Time need to be set again.
Note: make a note of the way the button cell battery is fitted and ensure you put it back in the same way.

My HP Pavilion DV seven laptop turns the power off by it self, sometimes and can only get power when I unplugged and plugged back in the battery but date and time is reset to beginning

When the Date and Time gets reset then this indicates the BIOS battery is flat and cannot keep these settings.
Replace the BIOS battery with a new one and then configure the BIOS Date and Time.

My Asus Eee 1005 netback time, date are wrong when started. Thought it may be cemos battery. This was replaced. Still have problem. Help

Have you verified your time and date settings for your operating system? Please ensure that it is the correct GMT time.
Example, if you live in New York, your time and date should be set to Eastern Standard Time (GMT -5)

Will laptop work with dead cmos battery?

Yes, but each time you start the computer you have to enter the BIOS to set the proper time and date. This is essential for certain progra,s to run correctly, when the computer shuts off, everything will be reset once more.

Sometimes if the battery is allowed to become fully discharged or very low, charging in the vehicle will not return the battery to fully charged status. Try leaving the GPS connect to a computer (Mac or PC) via USB cable for 8 hours or more and it should be able to accept charges again.
