If it is not a cable operated drain stopper, most have a knurled push pull knob on the top of the stopper. This knob should twist off to the left exposing a screw slot in the middle of the stopper. Using a flat blade screwdriver turning left until the stopper is free. If it is a cable opperated stopper, it is best to get a pro to replace it. If the cable is damaged and needs to be replaced, the tub will have to be pulled to do this job.
