Fuel/Oil mixture

  1. Use a quality 2 cycle oil and mix it to the OIL supplier's recommended ratio. Today I use Stihl 2 cycle oil mixed @ 50:1 in a Pioneer that I purchased new in 1980. There are no gouges or scratches on the piston or cylinder and I have no carbon build up on the piston top. The manual (on stone tablets) recommends 24:1. Over the years the mixture has leaned from 24:1 (Saw Recommendation) to 28:1 (Lawn boy mower recommendation) to 32:1 (Oil provider 8oz/2gal - used for many years) and finally the last 5 (±) ears 50:1 (Stihl 2.6oz/1gal)
  2. Today most gas in the US of A contains ethanol; not good with chainsaws. Mix what you expect to use within a few months. Anything over 6 months old use up in a 4 cycle engine. HTH

Mc manuals are hard; current IPLs can be found here:

Yours is far from current. You might try 1-800-521-8559 GL

What is the correct fuel/oil mixture for an older Eager ****** 16 inch chain saw?

It really depends on the model number of your Eager Beav er unit. Anything within the last 6 years is 50 to 1 older models can be anywhere from 25 to 1, to 32 - 1 up to 40 - 1. t all depends on the model number.

The usual fuel mixture is 40 - 1 or 3.2 oz. per gallon.

Your chain saw would have to be pre-1995 to use a mixture greater than 40-1. If your chain saw is other than that then use a 32 - 1 ratio. 4.oz per gal.

This is a great fuel mixture calculator:

If you know your model number you can use this page to get an owners / operators manual:

What is the fuel mixture ratio on a McCulloch Chainsaw MAC320? This is very old model

I went here hoping to find a written mixture and was disappointed.

I can tell you the OM for my Power Mac 320 model 600021H, serial 11-18555 says 40:1
1 gallon of premium fuel to 3.2 ounces of quality 2-cycle oil.
4 liters of premium fuel to 100 milliliters of quality 2-cycle oil.
I purchased mine used and have always operated it with a 50:1 mixture.

If you have more questions or need additional help please reply below and I will get back to you. HTH & Good Luck.

, No.455 Rancher, 20" Gas - Powered Chainsaw: What is the oil mixture ratio for the Rancher 455...

50: 1; You can download an OM here:
HusqvarnaUSA.com
http://www.husqvarna.com/us/homeowner/support/download-manuals/
Enter the 3 digit model number (no XPs, Es, just the numbers)
Serial number decode – useful when downloading IPLs and Manuals
06 1500198
06 = year produced – 2006 (single digit before 2000; please contact Husqvarna for single digit clarification http://www.husqvarna.com/us/homeowner/support/customer-support/)
15 = week produced – March
00198 = 198th unit Husky produced that week

Oil Mix Ratio:
The following ratios have been recommended for the last 10-15 years and is what Husky suggests for your saw..
Dolmar, Echo, Efco, Homelite, Husqvarna, Jonsered, Makita, Oleo-Mac, Red Max, Ryobi, Shindaiwa, Solo, Spear & Jackson, Stihl & Tanaka; all recommend 50:1.
1 gallon of premium fuel to 2.6 ounces of quality 2-cycle oil.
4 liters of premium fuel to 80 milliliters of quality 2-cycle oil.
McCulloch, Poulan & Wen; recommend 40:1.
1 gallon of premium fuel to 3.2 ounces of quality 2-cycle oil.
4 liters of premium fuel to 100 milliliters of quality 2-cycle oil.
Chinese chainsaws recommend 25:1.

I need an owners manual for McCulloch 100 series Eager ****** chainsaw

McCulloch Manuals
Illustrated Parts Lists: (IPLs) are fairly simple, on the underside of McCulloch saws is a black and yellow tag; the upper number (“Power Mac 320” 600021H) is the model, below it a serial number (11-18555). These 2 numbers are combined to create an IPL number (“Power Mac 320” IPL number = 11-600021H). The IPL number can be used to find the correct IPL for every McCulloch parts supplier I have found. If the parts supplier only list part numbers the proper IPL is the source for the part number.
A complete parts list using the "IPL Number" can be found here:
K&T Parts House
http://www.mymowerparts.com/pdf/McCulloch_Parts_Service_Repair_Manuals/Gas_Powered_Chain_Saws/
Operators Manuals: are much more difficult. I have dialed this number many times (Contact Us - All McCulloch Products 1 (800) 521-8559) and have yet to get a satisfactory response. Please try this! If enough of us try they will fix it! If unsuccessful with McCulloch try here:
Beg for manuals thread (ArboristSite - free to join). Please use the search function first, it has probably been asked and answered.

ArboristSite is where I found both my Mac 110 and Power Mac 320 operators manuals.

Do a 40:1 ratio to start, if it smokes cut it back alittle but 40:1 should be ok. Better to be alittle high on mix than not enough.
