HOW TO TOW MY 4X4 JEEP WITH MY PICK-UP TRUCK? WHAT TO DO WITH GEARS?

Hello! Please tow with the front of Jeep at the Pick-up bumper (reverse) Your odometer will not turn (no miles registered for the tow) also, the brake lights should be wired together so you have brake lights on the towed vehicle.Or buy the kit. Put the Jeep in neutral. Chain the front suspension of Jeep so you only have 15-20 degrees movement. Chain the cars together with two different sets of chains- one to the tow hook and one frame to frame. Put a sign and red rag on rear of Jeep. This is a safe tow.

Brake light on

check your lines, mine was on for 2 weeks, and my and my rear driver line blew. Remember you only have one reservoir. so if it happens, you'll need a tow, or drive home with little brakes.

1995 jeep cherokee 4wheel drive my right back has brake fluid spilling all out it all over rim i just had it towed AA the guy towed it 1 block and then called for a flat bed truck do you think something...

I would say if it did not leak before the tow that they definitely did something to it during the tow. They probably hooked a hook around the rear end and tore the brake line. If you have any more questions about this feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer them.

2004 x-type jaguar stuck in park after tail light problem . Simple brake light replacement turned into a nightmare. Scared to have the car towed. Can,t afford to have a jaguar tech come out, We're screwed....

Check the brake light fuse. If you blew a fuse for a brake light, you won't have power to the shift interlock which allows you to move the shifter.

Brake Box Will Not Work

First try a 12 volt "stab in" test light pushed into the blue wire at the brake controller. Red is brake feed from the truck, black is 12 volt power and white is ground. If all is wired correctly, the blue wire should power up when you hit the brakes. Be sure to turn the controller up to highest setting to test it. When you hook the test light up, the connection indication light should come on. Then turn red when you hit the brakes. Also see http://www.etrailer.com/faq-wiring.aspx for more info.

Braking lights and turn signals not working

Did you check the brake and signal light bulbs? If something happened that blew a fuse, chances are you probably lost some bulbs too. that should fix your problem

98 mazda b2500-my turning signal/hazard lights no longer work

You need to replace the flasher module, this is the module that controls the "Blinking" function of the lights, its a mostly a common part that you can get at any auto parts store for less than 10 bucks and is located in the Fuse panel under the dash, its round in shape in one corner of the panel. mostly they are green in color.

Trailer fuse blows when hooked up

Is your truck wired for a 7 pin flat plug? if so are you using an adapter? The adapters are made differently. One has the center pin as brakes and the other uses the center as Aux. power. Any chance of an animal getting to the wires? They are kown to chew on the wiring. Also try http://www.etrailer.com/faq-wiring.aspx. They have a great website with lots of info.

Tow plug

I take it the blinkers and brake lights work ok when not hooked up to the trailer? If yes, then the wiring to the tow hitch is not hooked up correctly. How many wires to trailer pig tail connection? U can have up to 7 depending on what you tow. Check to make sure these wires are hooked up from the truck to tow plug correctly: 7 wired---
brown-Rt turn and brake light, yellow-backup, white-ground, blue-electric brake, green-tail running lights, black-battery charger, red-left turn signal and brake light. Let me know if u have something other than 7 wire, I'll get the wiring color and source info for u.
