I turn the ps3 on but the video doesn't appear. i checked the tv and cords and nothing was wrong with them.

Did you check that the AV cords are plugged in right? Red to Red, White to White, Yellow to Yellow? Are they properly connected in the back of the PS3 not loose connections? It could also be that the PS3 display settings are at a really high resolution for your T.V. Try reset the PS3 resolution settings back to factory settings by turning the PS3 off and then hold down the power button for 3-5 seconds and you will hear some beeps it will load your PS3 resolution at 480i. Should give you your screen back.

I hooked the ps3 to the philips tv. turned on the ps3, AV1 displays in the corner. Nothing else happens, I am expecting the ps3 logo

give this a try...

Leave the TV running, go over to your PS3 and turn it off.

Once its off, hold the power button down till you hear a beep, KEEP HOLDING THE POWER BUTTON till you hear a double beep. The PS3 will shut itself off.

Give the device a couple of seconds, then hit the power button one last time (just turn it on, you don't have to hold it).

If all went right, your baby is back up and running...

Playing ps3 game and quit - tried to load another

It may need re-setting, try turning off the PS3 unit then turn it back on and keep holding the on button until it recycles at least once.

Tv says "no signal" when i turn on PS3

About holding the reset button, I assume you know how to use that trick, you might be missing something, though: Probably you have your TV set to the incorrect input, eg. Connect only the HDMI, set your TV to HDMI input and go with the power button trick (press (youll hear a beep), dont release until you hear a second beep) the system will autmatically display through HDMI, it can take up to 5 secons or so.

Theres a wave going across the tv screen whenever my ps3 three is on i tried different av cables a new power cord and nothing helped

has nothing to do with your tv or ps3 or xbox ive had this problem and fixed it...you are simply running to many things in the house or on that specific circut at once and the ps3 and tv are not getting enough juice.

My ps3 doest display anything nor makes any sounds please help

Just a gander, but your PS3 may be set for HD output thus not displaying on your non HD television, your best bet in this case is to find an HD television, friend, coworker, etc, connect to it and switch the settings back to regular. Also if I understand correctly leaving the ps3 completely unplugged for 72 hours may also reset all settings. Good luck!

PS3 plays game wont load XMB

What I did?

1).Shut down the system from the switch on the back.
2).Place and hold your finger down the on/off power button.
3).Turn the switch on the back “ON”, while still holding down the on/off power button.
4).Release your finger from the on/off power button, after you hear 2 beeps.

When i hook up the ps3 it turns on but nothing comes up on the tv

the only times this has happened with me is when the lead was not pushed in all the way at the back of the console. Or the tv was not set to the correct channel or the lead going into the tv was not sitting correctly. Try all of these three things to see if it helps. If not try pressing the power button on your ps3 until you hear 3 beeps to reset the display.
