Question about Microsoft Windows XP Professional
I have windows XP Professional version 2002 SP3 on my computer and have been passing the validation checks and receiving all the automatic updates since I have had this computer. The local shop that built it for me installed xp on it and it has been great until this morning when I turned it on and my monitor was black and a note in the lower right corner said. "you may be a victim of software counterfitting - This copy of windows did not pass genuine windows validation. There was a resolve button, so I clicked it and it said I could buy a genuine copy of windows for $149.99. How can I get around the greedy clutches of microsoft and resolve this? I sure don't want to format my hard drive, any help will be appreciated. Brion
It really is a nuisance for users with genuine products. This has also occurred to many people with MS Office 2003. It could however be caused by someone installing XP or Office that used a Corporate License that will require updating in a different way and not via the MS Auto Update procedure.
You can simply uninstall the MS update check that does the validation or return you machine to a known good state via the system, restore function. Look at your system history to see which update you need to uninstall and avoid reinstalling next time you get the option. So turn off auto updates and then make sure you control which updates are applied.
Also call the store where you bought the system if they are still in business.

This is Generic problem for all Microsoft Operating system. u can use WINDOWS genuine REMOVAL TOOL to remove it from ur pc.
Go to this link and get the removel tool:
if u don't want to suffer with this problem again then turn off automatic updates. Go to run command Type control>> click on automatic updates >> select turn off automatic updates.
