Question about Homelite ZR10926 16 Chain Saw

1 Answer

Homelite 14inch chainsaw

Was cutting with chainsaw then stopped and added more petrol. Now it will not restart. I've checked the sparkplug to make sure it was giving off a spark and it is. It seems that fuel isn't getting to the spark. Any suggestions?

Open the gas tank then reach something inside the tank. You will feel a small fuel line in there. Try to fish out the loose end of the line and you'll find a fuel filter on the end of it. Clean it or replace it and then try to start it again.

Homelite xl-98c will not start

Changing a spark plug rarely fixes a no start problem. You need to troubleshoot the saw more. Do a search on youtube or google about how to check for spark and how to check to see that the carburetor is getting fuel.

I have a homelite 46cc, 20 in. chainsaw; either a UT10522 or a UT10526 model. It starts up fine but dies after I let it idle for about 5 seconds. I can still cut trees but I can't put it down withou

Sometimes what can happen is the springs in the clutch break. This causes the clutch shoes to fly out at low speed and can stall the engine.
If the engine dies suddenly, it could be the electrical system, possibly the plug, breaking down with the heat.
If the engine splutters and then stops it could be fuel starvation. This would be caused by a faulty diaphragm or blocked jets in the carburettor. Check the vent valve on the tank also. This is a check valve which lets air into the tank as the fuel leaves the tank.

I havea 16 inch Homelite chain saw , I 've had it for about 25 years.I cannot not pull the starting rope. If I take out the spark plug ,it pulls with no effort.I have taken the starting rope cover off and...

If someone put the wrong sparkplug in the saw it would do the same thing. The plug threads could be too long and when the piston comes up it hits the plug and stopps. If the electrodes on the new plug extend farther out of the sparkplug the piston will come up and hit it and the engine will not turn.

My 14inch chainsaw stops cutting the log in the middle of the cut to the point were it is burning the log

hi there , i would say this as advice , it looks like the chain is gone blunt you either need to get a sharpening tool or a new chain , also keep checking the oil levels as some harder woods spend more oil

please rate this if found useful , many thanks it only takes 1 second

This homelite chainsaw is bran new

Remove the spark plug and check for blue and snappy spark. If weak or nothing, try another spark plug. If still improper spark, return the machine for replacement under warranty. Make sure you have followed all instructions for re-start. Good luck!

The make, model, and occationally the serial number help us solve your problem.

Does the engine quit running? (Carburator needs adjustment)
Or does it continue running and chain stops? (need clutch refaced or replaced.) (to aggressive a chain for the size of the engine)

I think you replaced parts unnecessarily. Maybe quicker and cheaper to visit your friendly neighborhood chainsaw shop. A good one can repair it even if they do not sell your brand.

What is th petrol and oil ratio for a homelite petrol chainsaw 33c- csp 3314

Generally you're looking at a 50:1 ratio on most chainsaws and I wouldn't see any reason the homelite should be any different. Usually it's one 2.5oz container of the oil mixture to one gallon of gasoline but check the label to be sure.

Chain turns then craps out, run hot

i assume it's a petrol driven probaby 2 stroke? if yes then you need a service on the carb & air filter if the engine is going back ok on idle speed.if it does not & goes off when you release the throttle then you may need to check the compression chamber which might have been damaged by not adding stroke oil in the petrol mixture.Hope this helps and is a 2 stroke engine...
