Doesnt drain all the way and smells pretty bad from standing wate

Relatively new (past 6 mos). Leaves about 1 inch of water in the small well at the bottom. Can't find manual. Tried the cancel cycle drain button but it still never drains completely. The filter is not plugged.

Ok if it doesnt drain properly... it means the drain hose isn't carrying it to the drain pipe, or the house's drain lines are backed up.
check these: Drain line/air gap Pump Drain valve and/or solenoid Belt Motor Timer

A clog in the drain line or air gap (if there is one) is the usual reason that a dishwasher won't drain.
Air gaps are installed in the drainage system to prevent the discharge from the dish washer to enter the sewer system and the contaminated water to drain back into the dishwasher after the pump stops.
When we install a dish washer we loop the discharge hose as high up under the cabinet as we can and secure it with pipe straps.
This creates a air gap so that when the pump stops nothing from the drainage system can flow back into the dish washer.

Often the problem is at the point where the drain line attaches to the garbage disposer or household drain line.
If you remove this line, you can clear any debris from the hose or hose connection. Be sure to reattach the hose before starting the dishwasher again.

we ll now see how to check the pump

Your dishwasher pump ejects the water. The pump is usually mounted directly to the motor, then attached to the bottom of the dishwasher You can reach the pump from inside the dishwasher, but first you need to remove the lower rack, the spray arm, and the spray arm support. Look for an impeller--a round plastic fan blade-type of device that spins around. This is the wash impeller, which forces the water through the spray arm.Beneath the wash impeller is the drain impeller, which is similar in size and shape to the wash impeller.
The drain impeller pushes the water toward the drain port.

if u see any of these parts broken u wud need to replace themnow the next thing to check wud be the drain valveMany dishwashers use a drain valve with an electric solenoid. When electricity flows to the solenoid, the valve opens and diverts the water to the drain.Sometimes the solenoid, or the diverting lever, sticks and prevents the dishwasher from draining or filling properly. Try to free up the solenoid to lubricate the lever. Otherwise, you may have to replace the solenoid or pump assembly. To access the drain valve remove the lower panel located beneath the door. The panel is usually held in place with two screws either above or below the panel. It may be necessary to first open the door to the dishwasher to reach the screws over the panel, then close the door to remove the panel. Look for a water hose running from the motor or underside of the tub. The hose should lead to the drain valve. now we need to check the motor ... now u might not be required to come uptill this iam giving u instructions just incase
If the motor isn't turning or working, the unit won't drain If the motor hums but doesn't turn, it may need to be replaced.

Some dishwashers are susceptible to getting stuck if you don't run them regularly. If you haven't run the dishwasher for more than a week, you may need to manually spin the motor to free it up. If the motor is defective, you need to replace it. Dishwasher motors just can't be serviced.also refer the following links http://www.acmehowto.com/howto/appliance/dishwasher/check/airgap.php

My 2004 honda accord has an underneath leak. What can this be?

possibly just condensation from your air conditioning unit.As long as your fuel levels are constant and you have no problems with how the vehicle is running. As long as it's not too much liquid, it's pretty common.

The washer leaves water remaining in drum after the entire wash cycle, it becomes stale and makes my clothes that I was smell. My father's front loader, GE, does not leave any water in the drum

Hello

Check the drain tube,it needs to be 30 inches above the floor.

Also if the drain tube from the washer is too far into the drain the washer will not drain completly. The drain tube should be 1 inch into the wall drain.

Also check for kinks or obstructions in the washer drain tube.

My Dishwasher works but still leaves some standing water.

Check the filter unit located at the bottom (inside) rear for clogging. Sometimes food will accumulate in the filter and not allow the unit to completely drain.

TYPICALLY A D/W WILL RETAIN A SMALL AMOUNT OF WATER IN THE SUMP OF THE MACHINE IF YOUR DISHES ARE CLEAN AND DRY I WOULD NOT WORRY IF YOU HAVE DIRTY STANDING WATER IN THE SUMP FIRST OFF GO TO WHERE IT DRAINS UNDER THE SINK GET A 5 GALLON PAIL AND UN HOOK THE HOSE BLACK GREY OR OFF WHITE UN HOOK HOSE AND HIT CANCEL DRAIN BUTTON ON D/W AND SEE IF WATER IS NOW GONE THE PORT WHERE IT DRAINS MIGHT BE PLUGGED IF IT DOES NO CLEAR THE WATER YOU MIGHT HAVE IN THE PAST BROKE A GLASS IN THE MACHINE AND A SMALL PIECE HAS LODGED ITS WAY IN FRONT OF THE DRAIN PASSAGE DEPENDING WHAT MACHINE YOU HAVE DETERMINES HOW THE ISSUE IS SOLVED

Put through entire cycle, standing water and dishes still wet, only 1 yr and 3 months old!WHY!!!!!!!!! It also has a musky or bad smell like food in the trash sometimes smells. 500 series 6 cycle stainless...

take the drain hose into a bucket and see if it pumps out.
if it does check for blockages where the hose goes to.

most likely is a blocked pump, the pump is assesable from in side the sump, you may have to get rid of all the water before you can see the cover, check instruction book.

Smell is usually caused by a warm cabinet left too long ( more than aday) with the door closed.

If your pump has been poor it could be stale water trapped in the sump.

Dishwasher drains but leaves behind about 1/2" of standing water

Water standing in the bottom of the tub is normal.
A small amount of clean water around the outlet on the tub bottom at the back of the tub keeps the water seal lubricated.

Overflowing drain pipe

it is ok to use a stand pipe that is 1 1/2 inch. the problem is that you need a new plumber!!! really you need someone that has a drain cleaning machine and can cut through all the years of lint and debris that has built up inside the pipe.
they will use the same type of head that is used to cut out tree roots from drains. make sure they know what they are doing before you agree to pay them, most good companies will charge about 50-75 bucks to clean the drain out.
also try the unit before the plumber leaves to make sure the drain is clean and doesnt back up.

Very bad tasting/smelling water and ice cubes - Superba KSRS27QAAL05

Since I found that the water itself being fed to the trays and being dispensed was bad. I replace the nylon, reinforced plastice icemaker hose with 1/4" copper supply line. That, along with purging the hopper (getting rid of) any old ice as well as washing the hopper out real good and giving the freezer a general cleaning - seemed to do the trick. No repugnant odor or taste. (I didn't even replace the filter- the cycle is every 6 mos.)

Hope this helps others who may be experiencing this same prob with this type of side by side appliance.

Good luck!
Lou
