Are u sure this code is not for the crankshaft position sensor, there is a recall for that from Nissan, they will replace it free of charge.

I have a 2003 Nissan Altima, started sounding rough, has double exhaust in the back very little coming out of one side. was told needed cam sensor replaced. Ran great for about 1 week, started runnin

Could be the power control module. When the control module only sends a spark to one side, that would account for your exhaust on one side. However, the distributor shaft could also be worn on one side.

Crankshaft and camshaft sensors location in nissan altima 2003

You are incorrect sir. There is a very good Youtube video showing you exactly where it is that is how I changed mine. The Crankshaft is located behind the engine block below and around from the cam sensor which is easly spotted looking at the engine. The crankshaft is in a difficult spot but once you figure out where it is it's easy...ish hope this helps

2003 nissan altima how many cam postion senors does it have

If you have a 4 cylinder you have 1 cam sensor and 1 crank sensor. Both parts are the same.

If you have a 6 cylinder, then you have 2 cam sensors and 1 crank sensor. These sensors are all different.

Thanks Jay!

Crank shaft sensor

I have 10 years experience in a Nissan dealership and I know without a shadow of a doubt that the Crankshaft Position Sensor is NOT located next tp the crank pulley... it is rather at the other end of the engine near where the transmission bellhousing bolts to the engine block. It is on the side toward the firewall near the bottom. Even if you can get the vehicle on a lift and get under it, you can't really see it... It's more of a feel thing... There was a campaign (recall) on these engines to replace Crank Position and also Cam Postion sensors. Check with your dealer- the campaign might be open. You will need your VIN number when you call.
