I have lost my manual, and my remote cannot turn the channels (turns tv on and off and adjusts volume). Trying to change channels with the bottons on the bottom of front does not work either, stays on channel 3. How can I get it to channel 0? Please......help! Thank you Steve

Hi, well you can do everything from the axtual TV itself, have a look on the TV you will find a setof buttons/keys. these allow you to controll almost everything that the remote can do.
here you can change channel change volume etc.
The buttons usually there are 6- 7 marked On/Off, Channel up/down, Volume Up/Down, Enter/OK & Menu. Now pressing these will bring up the onscreen display and you can adjust what you wish.
Now with the remote, it's probably best to obtain a new one..
Sometimes disassembly may fix it, but it sounds like it has a bad problem.
To ensure it doesn't interfere remove the batteries.
The remotes have several device keys at the top of the remote. They have abbreviations like "VCR", "DVD", "TV", "CBL". By default some actions are locked into a specific key. By default, the volume buttons will always control the TV volume and the channel buttons will always change channels on a digital box.
If you have a digital box, and the channels wont change, the default locks might have been removed. Consult the instruction manual that came with the remote and re-lock the buttons to the correct device key. Otherwise you will need to press the "tv" button when trying to change volume and the "cbl" button when trying to change channels.
If you do NOT have a cable box and are just simply trying to use the universal remote as a primary remote, you will need to unlock the global channel lock. Consult the manual for the remote or check online for the remote guide. The Company which makes the remotes is called Universal Electronics and you can find digital copies of their manuals on the Brighthouse Websites.
Good day, I might be missing something here, but if YourTV has the basic controls on the TV itself, such as on/off volume, and channel select, then just turn on tv, and set it to channel 3. Use your converter box remote to scan for channels, and other options it has as needed.
"...it's possible that one of the front panel buttons is "stuck" or shorted, and this could cause the TV to ignore commands from the front panel or remote. But this should also cause the Power command to be ignored, too. You might try pulling off the front panel and disconnecting the front panel buttons and then see if the remote works."
