Question about Celestron Optics

1 Answer

Need eyepiece etc - don't know what to buy or where to find it

I bought a celestron 22085 at a garage sale for $5 It needs an eyepiece, and I think there may something else missing - looks like it has some kind of electronic outlet on it? Also need a manual.
I live in Seattle the label on the telescope says D=80 mm F=900mm I would like to repair it for my daughter who is studying astronomy and astrophysics at college Is this worth fixing for her?

It's discontinued: however call Celestron and see if they still have parts?

Need the spare parts catalogue for a Celestron Powerseeker 60AZ telescope

By spare parts what do you mean? An eyepiece, a diagonal? a finderscope?

or is something broken like the front lens?

Anyway-- you can contact Celestron at this web site:
http://www.celestron.com/

and eyepieces, finderscopes, diagonals etc etc-- can be purchased from many different on-line retailers. Here are two:

Bushnell 78-9003 telescope purchased at yard sale with no eyepiece. Where can I purchase one that will fit? It talks about a .965 inch eyepiece.

.965 eyepieces are readily available on ebay. A meade 25mm MA (modified achromat) is about $10 plus shipping This will give you 700mm/25mm= 28x power. Avoid any eyepiece marked with a H (Huygens) as they have terrible field of view.
.965 is not a popular size anymore and Bushnell does not make very good telescopes. Don't get frustrated, if you are still interested, buy a Meade, Celestron, Orion quality telescope.

If you pull the eyepiece slightly out of the focuser can you then come to focus? If you can just lock down the eyepiece at that point -- or buy this:

I just bought one from a garage sale and i can see nothe through it.

Does it have eyepieces? If so, use the highest number eyepiece (lowest power) and try focusing on a far away object during the daytime. Align the finderscope to this object during the day so you can find the moon at night. The scope may need to be collimated also. See the manual.
If you do not have an eyepiece you have to go buy one before you can use the scope.

I recently bought a Cstar Optics T45375 from a garage sale. it seems one of the inner scopes inside the eye piece is missing. is there anywhere i can go to see if it is missing and if so where can i get a...

Inner scope??? you mean the eyepiece (s) are broken. Measure the hole eyepieces come in 3 sizes, .965, 1.25, and 2 inch sizes.

The .965 eyepieces are very difficult to find as most amateur telescopes use the 1.25 inch size.

Try Telescope Warehouse or Agena Astroproducts for a replacement eyepiece:

Don't ever buy another off brand telescope at a garage sale that you know nothing about.

I just bought one at a garage sale and donn't know where to look thru

You never said the make or model or type of telescope???

Refractors have a lens in front and the eyepiece goes in the back end of the tube.

A reflector has a mirror and the eyepiece usually goes in NEAR the front end of the tube.

I have bought a Nexstar 80 from a garage sale. It did not come with an eye piece. I have one now. (Celestron 20mm) I still cannot focus on anything. Is there some other adapter that I need to focus?...

You need a DIAGONAL see this picture, it's basically an "l" shaped accessory that fits into the end of the telescope so you look DOWN into the eyepiece.

My celestron 114 EQ Is now put together. I have a apple computer

Did you start by using your lowest magnification eyepiece? Until you get used to that one it's almost impossible to use the higher powered eyepieces. I was looking too high in the sky and with too much magnification and was having the same problem. Find something like the roof of the garage and then gradually sweep the sky just above it slowly. --- If you can see only black during the day too - there is possibly a misalighnement of mirrors - you can buy a collumating kit from celestron.com - hope this helps.
