Question about Nikon Coolpix S210 Digital Camera

1 Answer

I have the Niko S210 and took some video. I had Windows Vista and did not understand how it worked. With Windows XP I could plug the camera in and go to My Computer, find the camera and drag and the videa onto my desktop. I did this in Vista and the file can not be opened by any program. The file size is correct but I cant open it. I have since changed back to Winddows XP and I still can not open the files. These are short videos of my sons birth and very important to me. Do you know how I can open these files?

Have you tried playing them in Quicktime? It's a free download if you don't already have it. Also, if the video is still on the memory card, try using a separate card reader to download your pictures to a folder you create on your desktop.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Zoom not working on S210

I'm afraid this is a known issue with S210. I understand you're also getting "lens error" message on the screen?
Not a lot can be done here.
This is a relatively cheap camera and this issue is particularly painful to fix (and I have a feeling that even if you replace the lens mechanism it will fail again - I've seen this on several S210s). Therefore I would suggest selling the S210 on ebay for spares and getting yourself another camera-preferably not another S210 ;)

Sorry if this isn't much of a help, but from repairman's point of view I can say that it's really not worth the hassle to try and fix this particular camera.
Thanks,
Raf

Nikon Coolpix s210 drivers

if the support guy toldy to by a reader i'm sure it's because that was the only solution. more than like ly the driver is obsolete and no longer available. i'm sure that this is not what you wanted to hear but unfortunately when it comes to new electronics versus older computer. there is always 1 or 2 problems that can't be overcome the conventional way. in general terms windows is always updating security patchs or registry fixes and they don't always include alot of the drivers from prior hardware. card readers are not that expensive anymore and probably will save you money and frustration in the long run. hope this helps. please rate this solution and good luck.

Largan Chameleon XP Digital Camera on Windows Vista

Cameras come with a software disk.
This is not needed.
When a camera is plugged in to the computer and switched to the 'Upload' mode
The computer will simply see it as another remoable storage drive.
The Camera /Scanner Wizard will be displayed asking you what to do next and giving you several options.
You really do not have to underestand or think about anything
Windows does that.
