My iphone was blocked by apple as I gave it as stolen. Anyway to put it working again?

Contact Visa and have them reverse the charge to your account after they back charge the original seller. Nothing to lose with this approach.

Contacts and pictures can only be recovered if you had kept auto back up options ON , to your clouds services, like google, apple or any other available. or if you have backed up periodically your mobile at your PC / laptop.
Else i dont think any service provider company can get you back your pictures or contacts of stolen mobile.

If your phone has been Blacklisted, or your ESN has been blocked that means the carrier is blocking the MAC address on your LogicBoard. The only way to resolve this is to convince the Carrier to unblock it, or replace the LogicBoard on the phone as it will have a new MAC address which will not be blocked.

You cannot track any cell phone unless you have Icloud and possibly an apple phone, I had my iPhone stolen and my laptop in my car took me right to the house that had it and I had to police waiting, it actually gave me a bit of a power trip...LOL

It was probably stolen. It might be in your best interest to take it to your local police station and see if the serial number has been reported. (If it was stolen, and the original owner has the theft protection software installed, the laptop can be traced the minute it connects to the web.) If not, take it to your nearest Apple Store and see if they can unlock it for you.

iPhone passwords are in place to prevent stolen iPhones from being accessed. So seeing requests like this on the internet does raise suspicions as to whether or not the phone was stolen, but if it ~wasn't~ stolen then there are a few solutions:
--- If your friend still has the computer to which this iPhone was originally connected, then you can do a system restore on the phone and resync it with his account. --- If your friend never sync'ed the phone with iTunes (pretty unlikely) or does not have his computer available, then you can go with him to an ATT or Apple store and ask for help there. You will need him as proof that the phone is changing hands. Whether or not files are lost may depend on their tech savviness.
--- If restoring doesn't work, if your friend isn't nearby, if there's no ATT or Apple store nearby, or if it's too much trouble to coordinate going there, then you're entering hack-zone, which is for what iPhone thieves are looking. This involves looking around for iPhone jailbreak software options and the like. I won't help with that; don't steal. If you didn't steal then good luck!

Sounds like it might be stolen and locked by the original owner's MobileMe account. Try restoring with iTunes is that doesn't work, call your carrier.

you cant unblock a blocked imei due to the fact that the previous owner of your iphone decided to report the iphone as stolen and get it blocked (which i am suggesting that the phone is stolen). If you try to call whoever company then they wouldn't be able to give you any information on WHO blocked it due to data protection act. If you're the person who blocked it, you can simply call in and ask to unblock it as long as you give proof that you're the owner. Hope this helps.
