Question about Toshiba & Satellite™ L305D-S5922 15.4" Laptop PC Notebook
It started yesterday when my laptop would permit me to get onto the Internet, but not while using certain programs such as Ventrilo or inal Fantasy XI. After a few hours, it became unable to connect at all.
It says I am connected to the router, but not the Internet, and when I try Diagnose and Repair, Vista tells me the problem cannot be solved automatically and that I need to contact my ISP.
I have tried hardwiring my notebook straight to the router with an Ethernet cable, and even that didn't work. I know it isn't the router or modem because there are two Xbox 360's, a desktop, and three other laptops that can connect just fine. (The one I'm using is my roomate's).
All of us have not had any Internet problems for almost a year, except for the occasional blackout that is caused by our provider.
I have not changed any settings or messed with anything at all. My roommate thinks it might be an IP issue, I'm wondering if it's a hardware issue.
Any suggestions at all appreciated!
For most cases, this works. Go to your device manager and scroll down to your network adapters. Right click on one of them....preferably the wireless first and delete it. Uninstall it but keep the driver files. Reboot the computer and let windows find the drivers and reinstall the hardware. Once this is accomplished, let the pc settle and see if your wireless reconnects to the router, if so try to connect and sign in and then try to open a browser window. If you get online, get back into the device manager and this time uninstall the ethernet adapter and perform the same steps. Good luck

As simple as it may seem, reboot the router. just unplug the electricity from it. Also, do you know if any programs made an update prior to this issue?
