I inherited a technics SL-6 turntable system and a very old sears audio by fisher am/fm stereo receiver along with 1 pair of kenwood ks-401ht front speakers and cant get any sound. I have the technics...

Your connections seem to be right.

Let's distill this down to its simplest configuration... does the onboard FM produce sound? If not, nothing will.

NEVER USE MAXIMUM VOLUME FOR TROUBLESHOOTING.

Turn the volume control to something medium.

The errant switch, control or condition may change and you will suddenly release the amp's full power and possibly destroying your speakers. If a signal isn't audible at 1/2 volume it's probably not there.

Carefully examine the front panel for clues like a misplaced Mute or Tape Monitor control or Multichannel Analog Input selected.

There is a good chance that a common control may have developed a high-resistance or 'dead' spot through idleness and is causing your symptom. Turn the POWER OFF and operate every control throughout its range a number of times, especially rarely-used ones like Tape Monitors and the Mute control.

Turn the volume to something reasonable and see if that helped.

Lcd giving no display and giving beep sound

Normally you will get beep sound at booting if you have a problem with your video card or under some circumstances with your screen.

Try to plug an other monitor on your computer. If it works than probably your monitor is in problem.

or

try to plug your monitor on an other pc. If it works than your computer video card is the problem.

Hope it will help

Monitor speakers stopped working

Make sure that the audio cable from the computer is in the correct audio output (small green socket) and connected into the monitor. You can test the monitor speakers with an MP3 player or a smartphone. Also check that the volume on the monitor is up.

No sound

Dear marco1983,

there are no speakers on G2400W, just the plug hole for speakers that routes forward the sound signal from the HDMI signal.

No sound from the monitor

Plug the monitor speakers into a source of constant sound (mp3/cd player) and make sure the monitor is not muted and volume is at least half way.

If that works adjust the volume and mute settings on the computer

Compaq wf 1907 monitor speakers--no sound

No sound from monitor speakers
If the built-in speakers on the monitor do not produce sound, perform each step that follows, testing for sound after each step, until you can hear sound:
  1. Close the software program you are using that is experiencing the sound problems. Test for audio using another software program.
If the volume is adequate using another software program, the issue is with the computer, not the monitor. If the volume is still low, continue with this procedure.
  2. Check the cable connection. If the monitor-to-computer connection is a VGA cable (usually blue on both ends), an additional audio cable is needed between the monitor and the computer. Check that the audio cable is connected properly.
  3. Try to adjust the volume higher using the monitor front-panel volume button.
  4. Using the buttons on the monitor, navigate through the onscreen display (OSD) menu to find audio or speaker settings and enable the speakers.
  5. Click Start c01292216.gif , Control Panel , and then click Sounds and Audio Devices .
  6. From the Volume tab, check the Device volume, and make sure it is not muted.
  7. From the Audio tab, in the Sound playback field, click the Volume button. Make sure the audio device is not muted and the volume outputs are at adequate levels.
  8. If the monitor-to-computer connection is an HDMI cable, an additional audio cable might be needed, depending on the setup and configuration of the system. To find out whether an additional audio cable is needed, go to
HP and Compaq Desktop PCs - Using HDMI Audio with a Desktop Computer

This document pertains to HP or Compaq PCs with an HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) connector.
HDMI sends both audio and video through the same connection. If you want to hear audio from an HDMI connection, HDMI audio must be set through Windows . For example, if a computer is connected via HDMI to a monitor or TV and the proper HDMI audio settings are made, both audio and video will be sent to the display device.
Use the following steps to activate HDMI audio on your computer:

NOTE: If you are setting up your computer for the first time, it may be easier to use a DVI connection or DVI-to-VGA adapter connection for the initial setup. Then, if you want to use an HDMI connection to connect a TV or monitor, activate sound for the HDMI connector using the steps that follow before connecting the HDMI cable to the TV or monitor.

NOTE: After recovering the computer using the Recovery Manager, repeat this procedure to activate sound for the HDMI connector.

Step 1: Enabling HDMI sound in the BIOS
To hear audio through the HDMI connector to a monitor or display, enable the Onboard Audio setting in the computer BIOS settings by completing the following steps.

NOTE: If you choose the default BIOS Setup options or upgrade the BIOS, you must repeat this procedure to enable audio for the HDMI connector.

  1. Turn off the computer.
  2. To enter the BIOS, turn on the computer and press the F10 key repeatedly until a BIOS Setup screen opens.
    A BIOS Setup screen opens.
  3. Press the right arrow key on the keyboard to select the Advanced tab.
  4. Press the down arrow key to select Onboard Audio , and then press the Enter key.

    An option window opens.
  5. Press the down arrow key to select Enabled , and then press the Enter key.

  6. Press the F10 key. Select Yes to save the default settings, and then press the Enter key.
  7. The computer restarts. HDMI sound is now enabled.
