How to check lcd flex video cable

Take the LCD Screen apart. The cable is on the back of the LCD and attaches at the top. To take the lcd screen apart remove the plastic strip that is around the lcd screen. There are screws under the rubber bumpers on the plastic strip. Once you remove the screws under the rubber bumpers, then the plastic strip can be removed. Then you'll be able to get to the screws on the side of the brackets holding the lcd screen.

Mc culloch trimmac 250 LS triming head is only rotating very slowly and stops when i go to strim there does not seem anything wrong with the cable between the engine and the cutting head

It certainly sounds like an issue with the flex drive, or maybe where it fits into either the gear head or the clutch drum, it may have rounded the inner connection where the flex drive fits into.

How do i remove and replace my keyboard for satellite a205 laptop

Agree with LaptopRepair. The procedure for Keyboard removal is pretty close.

Wanted to add information on the FFC connector though.

If you have never dealt with a Flat Flex Cable connector, you are going to be in the dark, and could break something.

1) The flat cable from the Keyboard to the motherboard, is a Flat Flex Cable.

2) The connector on the motherboard the FFC connects to, is an FFC connector.

3) The Flat Flex Cable removes FROM the FFC connector.
> Just the flat flex cable, comes out of the connector on the motherboard.

Again, The flat cable by itself comes out of the connector, with no connector on it.

4) The FFC connector on the motherboard, does not come away from the motherboard. It is attached to the motherboard.

The FFC connector on the motherboard does not come apart in two pieces.

It opens to release the flat flex cable.

The FFC connector ONLY opens so far.
(1/8th inch ?) It is a two piece connector, but does Not come apart.

Looking at the FFC connector, you will spot a parting line going across the middle.

The top half of the connector looks like a fat T.
The two tabs on either side at the top of the Top half, make the T head shape.

These two tabs are pushed towards the LCD screen.
Ease one tab up a little, then ease the other tab up.

This opens the connector, and allows the flat flex cable to come out.

Install the flat flex cable from the New Keyboard, in the same direction as the old Keyboard's flat flex cable.

One side of the flat flex cable has exposed copper strips. (Contacts)
The other side does not.

Be sure to install the flat flex cable of the Keyboard in the correct orientation.

Do not rate this information. Just added info.

The head will not spin on Troy Built weed eatter

sounds like your flex cable has taken a trip south. Pull the shaft off the head and take a look at the flex cable. If flex cable is ok, they your clutch is defective.

Power Cable wires exposed where it enters handle

Part of your question has been cut off by the FixYa system, but I guess you say the wires are exposed where the flex enters the handle. To dismantle the handle, first remove the handle from the machine and, of course, be sure the flex is not plugged in to the mains power.
Look on the back of the handle - you will see a small screw. Undo that screw and remove it, then you will be able to pull the plastic part of the handle out from the metal part. NOTE: it does not come very far out - just far enough so you can separate the two halves of the plastic part. When you've done that, it's only a matter of removing the damaged part of the flex (noting how the wires are routed inside the handle), stripping the remaining flex to match the bit you've removed, and wiring it in. Fit the two plastic halves together again (one hooks into the other at the top), push them down into the metal part and refit the screw. Job done!
If you need more help, just post a reply here and I'll get back to you soon. Good luck!

There is no power. fuse checked. I have stripped down the vacuum cleaner but still does not work

Almost certainly there is a break in the wire inside the flex. This happens most often just where the flex enters the handle (less often where it enters the plug). If you have any means of checking for electrical continuity, with the machine unplugged from the mains remove the handle and check for continuity between the pins of the plug and the sockets at the end of the handle. If you can't do this yourself, you will need professional help.
If there is a fault in the flex close to the handle it is possible to remove the flex from the handle, cut off the damaged bit and re-wire the remainder into the handle. To have a professional do this may well cost more than just fitting a new pre-wired handle.
Good luck! If you need more help, just post a reply here.

Phone works but display is black....

Firstly, what is a display strip? the term is a FLEX Cable - these cost about $15-25 for the part, but you need to install it The installation at our shop with the part is $40 + shipping. We can fix and return the phone same day, we have lots of flex cables in stock for the v3.

This is a common problem - if you buy one on ebay for $80-100 you are risking buying a refurbished unit, and they usually have many problems - be careful
