Usually foul odors is associated with a stopped up drain pan. You must first open the drain. Then to keep the house smelling good and the drain line clear you can use some Pro Treat drain pan pills.

Bessel pro dry carpet cleaner the water/soap solution does not come out when I press the trigger

Remove the spray jets (after marking them as to the direction they are pointing) and soak them in white vinegar over night. It will remove the soap and hard water build up. Then put it back together.

Clean carpets yourself with a carpet steamer

Keeping your carpet clean can be a real challenge, and having a cleaner come to clean the carpet can be very pricey. A few years ago I invested in a carpet cleaner and use it every other week to clean the carpets in the main areas of my house and it is the best thing ever!

To begin plan a time that you will be able to spend to clean the carpet and allow it to dry. The carpet can take up to 12 hours to dry. I like to do it before bed because then no one will be walking around the house over night. Start by taking all the furniture that you can out of the room that you are going to be cleaning. Once the room is empty you will be able to see where the main traffic areas are in a room and gives you an easier time to clean the room without all the obstacles that the furniture creates.

When the room has been emptied it is time to prepare the carpet steamer. Following the steamer’s instructions fill the tank with hot water, and the detergent container with carpet cleaning detergent according to the instructions. Make sure not to use too much detergent because this can actually result in your carpet becoming more prone to getting dirty faster rather than being more clean for longer.

Replace the containers to the carpet steamer and start using the steamer in the farthest part of the room. Moving slowly backwards towards the entrance of the room avoiding walking on the newly cleaned carpet. Rinse the carpet thoroughly to make sure that you get all the detergent out of the carpet.

When you have finished all the rooms that you want to steam, if you have a dehumidifier it will help to make the drying go faster. You can also turn on the air conditioner to dry the carpet. It is very important that you make sure the carpet is dry before you move the furniture back into the room, especially if you have wood furniture because it can stain the carpet.

While the carpet is drying you should avoid going into the room that has been steamed because you don\'t want to track dirt into the room. What you can do if you really must walk on the wet carpeting is wear clean socks, or plastic bags on your feet. Once the carpet is dry you can move the furniture back into the room and enjoy your new clean house.

What do I need to do to extract water from a carpet following a leak.

If you're renting your home, call the landlord and let him have it taken care of.
If you own your home, the best thing you can do is to call a carpet cleaning company with a truck mounted machine. They still won't be able to remove all the moisture, but will get it dry enough for the next step. If you feel this would be too expensive, rent a "steam cleaner" from a rental place, or store where they rent them, and go over your carpet several times with this.
After the water has been vacuumed up, you'll need to lift carpet and prop it up enough to allow a fan or two to be placed so it will be able to blow air on the bottom of the carpet, as well as the pad. Raising the temperature in the room, or placing a heater that will blow warm air on the carpet and pad will help dry them faster.
Ensure origin of leak is fixed.

How to clean wet carpet in a car atfer a flood. this happen on yesterday in portsmouth, va. We had a storm which resulted in flooding, power outages, and trees falling down. water gotten in my car because...

You can hand shampoo it using clean water then hit it with a shop vac or other powerful wet/dry machine. It will eventually dry out. The problem is that moisture and odors will lay under it. You can take the whole carpet out of the car yourself and use a carpet cleaner, letting it fully dry before reinstalling. Generally this will require removing seats, consoles, and interior trim. If you are not experienced at this and don't have the proper tools, it can be a time consuming chore.

Otherwise contact a car/truck stereo installation shop. I find these folks are reasonable to pay for removal and reinstallation of the carpet and may also cheaply clean it for you.

Lastly you may just get a whole new carpet, look on ebay, and stuff that in there.

Condensation leaks out front of unit into the house.

Hi, no don't drill holes in bottom tray, to make drain, that's design, you need to keep water there, the fan usually pick up water(moisture) and add to your air inside your home, otherwise the air in your home will become to dry, dry air will create static electricity all over your home, from your carpet to your clothes, you need to level your unit horizontally, put a spirit level, and you should have a slight pitch, from front to back, good luck.

Floor on passenger side gets wet when running air conditioner

I have a 2006 Fusion with the same issue and I fixed it for less than $2. There is a drain tube that goes from the passenger floor board out through the firewall to allow water to drain under the vehicle. However, water can travel along the underside and seep back into the vehicle. I went to a hardware store and bought a few inches of 5/8" tubing. I simply slipped this onto the drain and the water now flows down the tube and safely away from the interior of the car. Been dry ever since.
