Belt ~ Why is this so complicated?? No manual

We just recently moved and I can't find my user guide anywhere. It's been awhile since I've used this vacuum and I can't remember if the belt needs to be hooked up or not when running the regular floor mode. I left it unhooked and the suction doesn't seem to work that well and I'm scared to burn up my belt. So I either have a suction problem or a belt problem.... ;-)

I have a simplicity 7350 vacuum. The belt and roller have recently been replaced. It runs fine on floor mode and has no problems with suction. When I put the vacuum in carpet mode, I do not hear the motor...

the motor spins around a steel shaft that sticks out on one end, and the belt is driven by that shaft, belts are easily damaged and broken, meaning roller wont spin. Often a burning smell of rubber is noticed after motor shaft spins on stuck belt. cause is always hair./string/something at the three contact points. motor shaft and belt, roller and vacuum body become clogged. become familiar with taking cover off roller/belt, and cleaning Checking moving parts roller/belt come out easily and simple to clean...keep spare belts.

My husband ran over my daughters shirt with our Dyson DC17 animal. Now it's making this horrible load ratting noise. I've taken the head off. Clean the beater bar. The belt is in tact. No

First make sure there are not any of the rubber cogs missing from the belt, it may be wise to replace the belt anyway because the cogs may be worn. Make sure the brush roll does not have any play in it anywhere and that It fits tightly in the nozzle housing without any play. If there is any play or wiggle that will cause it to move.

Brush stays on when upright

You are correct, the brush will continue to rotate when using the upholstery hose as stated in the user guide.

The burning smell may be contributed to a couple of different reasons. Make sure the front of the vacuum is not being tipped or tilted forward when using the upholstery hose.

If you continue to have difficulty, you may want to have a one of BISSELL's Authorized Service Centers inspect your vacuum.

Hi, I have a silly question. How on earth do I thread my Brother Xr-65 sewing machine?!! I have misplaced the users manual during my recent move. It seems to take thread a little differently than my...

The XR-65 and the XR-65T are the same except that the T indicates the sewing machine was sold with the Quilting Table and some accessories for quilting.

To thread the sewing machine, first lift the presser foot and use the handwheel to raise the needle to its highest position. The thread take up lever should be at its highest point. Place the spool of thread on the horizontal pin secured with the appropriate cap. Make sure that the thread comes off the spool from the bottom front, (Also check that the catch (for holding the thread when not in use) on the spool is at the back of the pin.) Then bring the thread to the thread guide at the back of the machine then down past the reverse lever and back up the the thread take up lever. Wrap the thread around the take up lever so that it slides into the slot and then goes through the hole in the take up lever from right to left. Bring the thread down again and place it behind the guide above the needle. Then thread the needle from front to back.

Brother has the manual available for download: . See page 31 (43 of the PDF) for the pictures of the upper thread path.

I hope this helps.

Brand new bissell #6583 upright vacuum worked for 15 min

The belt may be broken. The following link is to the User's Guide which explains how to check and replace the belt if needed.

The little toothed belt on my bissell shampooer broke got a replacement but don't know how to put it back on Stark's where I bought the belt wouldn't help me man said he isn't a mechanic. well...

Hi!  Your question has come up under Bissell ProHeat, although you don't actually specify that model. Assuming it is, the belt change operation is quite simple but hard to describe in words (it will sound much more complicated than it actually is, and is further complicated by the fact that there are two different belts, one on each side of the machine!)
Your best bet is to go to the Bissell website (www,, find your exact model, and then you can download the user manual which shows you, with illustrations, exactly how to do it.
Good luck!  I value your feedback. If this has helped, please remember to rate me.
