Can't finalise minidvd on Canon DC201

You have to plug in the AC adapter to finalize a disc. It won't "finalize" on the battery alone.

I do know that to finalize discs, you need to have your camera plugged in to a wall outlet, according to the owner's manual.

Sorry but 1000's of others get this problem with these stupid DVD type cameras, only one way still of filming your movies if you want good safe future working films is to buy the Digital 8 tape camera, it is recorded for like then, safe & sound, DVD cameras are silly gimmicks and go wrong like Hard-drives do often.

you first have to plug the camcorder into the mains or the disk wont finalize it assumes theres not enough battery power to do the job so plug in the charger and it will do it every time

I have a DC95 too.
You need to connect the battery charger for the "Finalize" option to be active.
