If you're referring to your xfinity tv receiver (the cable box) there's a few different ways. Please keep in mind without much information, it's difficult to give a 100% direct answer.
There are four ways to connect it. We'll start with what will give you the best video quality, going to the worst.
HDMI cable: A single cable with a flat end. Your TV and receiver will have port labeled "HDMI". You plug it in, and then use your tv remote to set it to the HDMI channel. You may have source or input button on the remote. Press that, and a list of options will appear on your tv. Select HDMI. If there is more than one HDMI (as in HDMI1, HDMI2) try each one until you get a picture.
Component cable: A cable with 5 ends. They're color coded, so match up the colors. Then try that input our source button to select the COMPONENT option on your tv.
RCA cable: A cable with three ends. Color coded. Follow the same directions as above in regards to the correct "channel" to put it on.
Coax: A single cable, an end that screws in. Its connector will look like something can be screwed on it, with a hole in the middle for the pin to go into. Connect it, then tune your tv to channel 3 or 4.
The TV is not on the correct input setting or channel. Depending on your TV model and the receiver, you have a cable coming from the receiver to the TV. That cable could be a coax (screws in), RCA (yellow, white, red tips), component (green, blue, red, white, red tips), or HDMI cable. For all cables except the coax, the TV should be on an input setting. With your TV remote, you should have a source, input, or TV/Video button. Press that button and it should bring up a list of input settings. Each time you press that button it will scroll you down the list. Try each setting until you find the picture. I hope this helps.
Mamarene, you should have a cable that comes from the flooor or wall that will got to the Satellite in port on the Dish receiver. You then should have a cable leaving the 3-4 port of the Dish receiver going to the IN PORT -usually the top- of the VCR. Directly below this port on the VCR you may have another cable which ould connect to the antenna port of the TV or you may have a set of red/white/yellow cables that need to be on the output port of the VCR of the corresponding color and connected to the INPUT PORT of the TV in the same manner. The DVD will be connected the same way with red/white/yellow but mat go directly to the TV on another set of IN PORTS or they may go to the IN PORTS of the VCR if so equipped. If your systems is different let me know what kind of connections and type theey have or give me the make and model number of the TV/VCR/ and DVD and I will look them up and tell specifically what to connect where. Thanks for using Fix Ya
The LA78041 IC has failed. I replaced it twice before I cleaned the high voltage connection to the CRT. It was very cruddy from cigarette smoke. A high voltage discharge to the yoke takes out this IC. They are available for under $4.00 Good luck.
