Question about Panasonic TC-32LX50 32 in. HD-Ready LCD Television

2 Answers

The cable guy programmed the cable remote to turn on/off the TV. We used it to turn the TV to stand-by. Then pushed the power button on the TV to turn the power off. Haven't been able to turn the TV on since with any combination of TV button and remote on/off button. Did we fry the power supply?

Yes, it is a universal remote, and I understand how they work. I have programmed universal remotes with macros. The problem is the TV power button will not even put the TV in stand-by mode (the indicator on the TV will not light up red or green). I have a hard time believing the remote has anything to do with this. But I wanted to describe exactly what happened.

Does your cable remote have a little button that says "tv" ? Usually you have to tell the remote which machine it is controlling, and you do that by first pressing the button "tv" "cable" or "cbl" "dvd" etc. Once you do that, it will use the frequency for the item you selected. After you turn on the tv, you'll then have to press "cbl" or "cable" to operate your cable box.

Your power should be fine unless you also had a surge or lightning strike.

First use the original remote control that came with your tv, or just manually turn it on at the tv itself to bes sure it is working. If it works you should call the tech support for the cable company to program their remote control to a different code - or put it back to to factory state and just use two remotes.

I need remote control code for Dawin TV

If you do not know the code, you can use the code search function to program the remote control.

Using Code Search:

1. Turn on the device you want to program into the remote.

2. Point your remote control at the device

3. Press and hold the "Code Search" button for about 3 seconds until the light on the remote stays on.

4. Press the button on the remote for the device you want to program. Push the "TV" button to program the TV, press the "DVD" button to program the DVD player, etc. The light on the remote control will blink and stay on.

5. Slowly press and release the power button repeatedly until the device turns off. Each time you push the power button the light should blink once.

6. Press "Enter" to save the code into the remote and the light will turn off.

I can't program my remote to the tv

Note: most remotes allow you to find the code by manually turning the TV (or other device) on first, then press the appropriate button (cable, DVD, surround, etc) then setting the the remote in the "program" mode, then keep pushing the "off/power" button until the TV (or other device) turns off, at that point the code is set.

How do i program my remote

Hello;

Without knowing the codes for the specific brand names and models of your devices, this is how you program the Zenith MBR3447 for your TV, VCR, DVD Player, CD Player or Audio Receiver:

TV

1. Push the "Power" button on the TV to turn it on.
2. Press and hold the "PRG" button in the upper left corner of the remote. Release when the indicator light, located in the top center of the remote control, comes on.
3. Push the "TV" mode key located at the top of the remote.
4. Enter 0 -- 0 -- 0 on the remote's number pad, then press the "Enter" button.
5. Aim the remote control in the direction of the TV's IR sensor and push the "Power" button. Pause a second. If the TV fails to shut off, push the "Power" button again. Repeat until the TV does shut off. Each time the "Power" button is pressed the Zenith MBR3447 tries using a different TV device code from its code library to turn the TV off. Therefore, when the TV finally does shut off it's an indication that the remote is temporarily programmed with the correct device code to control the brand of TV you're using.
6. Press "Enter" to save the current code.

VCR

1. Push the "Power" button on the VCR to turn it on.
2. Press and hold the "PRG" button in the upper left corner of the remote. Release when the indicator light, located in the top center of the remote control, comes on.
3. Push the "VCR" mode key located at the top of the remote.
4. Enter 0 -- 0 -- 0 on the remote's number pad, then press the "Enter" button.
5. Aim the remote control in the direction of the VCR's IR sensor and push the "Power" button. Pause a second. If the VCR fails to shut off, push the "Power" button again. Repeat until the VCR does shut off. Then press "Enter."

DVD Player, CD Player or Audio Receiver

1. Push the "Power" button on the device your programming the remote to control to manually turn it on.
2. Press and hold the "PRG" button in the upper left corner of the remote. Release when the indicator light, located in the top center of the remote control, comes on.
3. Push the "AUX" mode key located at the top of the remote.
4. Enter 0 -- 0 -- 0 on the remote's number pad, then press the "Enter" button.
5. Aim the remote control in the direction of the device's IR sensor and push the "Power" button. Pause a second. If the device fails to shut off, push the "Power" button again. Repeat until the device does shut off. Then press "Enter."

I need to program my Sanyo remote to all available channels. What is the code for a Sanyo GXBD remote?

I think this may be what you need I will tell you and we can see. Its true most remotes have codes but their are so many of them it would be hard to say. But as a fail safe the remote is programmed with a self coder. turn your T V off stand away from it a couple of feet and aim your remote at it, then start pushing the power button slowly at about 2 second intervals just keep pushing sometimes you may have to depress the power button as many as 50 times but the T V should turn on when it does use your remote and go to menu channel select and scan it should log the channels in automatically in about 3 minutes
