3hp. Briggs and stratten motor

Yes . Do not mix oil and gas like a 2 stroke engine. You may need to use a higher grade fuel than regular. It will run better and start easier.

I have a mcklean 3hp edger that won't start it tries were can I find how to fix this problem repair manual for the carb

If this is an older edger with a 3 hp Briggs and Stratton engine, there is a diaphram in the side of the carb. Look for a plate approx 1"x1.5" with about 6 screws in it.
Remove those screws, and you'll find a paper thin rubber diaphram and a spring. Replace that diaphram, you can use the old spring. There is one spring loaded carb adjustment screw, close it all the way, and then open it 1 and1/2 turns.

Briggs & Stratton 60200 series engine intake valve tar

I'm having the exact same problem with a Briggs & Stratton 80202 engine on my Mclane reel mower. I cleaned out the valves and cylinder head, put it back together and it runs nicely. I ran it for about a half hour then turned it off to adjust the blade. A couple hours later I went to start it and no compression. The Intake valve is stuck open with gum from running it for a half hour! The can of gas I have is less than a month old. I'm going to try a different brand of gas.

Have to choke to keep running

this is not hard to do here is what you need , 1 can of carb cleaner anykind will do , a 10 mm rench to remove the bowl 7/16 socket . now remove the carb take a good look where the spring is before you take the carb off it muct go back in the same hole , now that you have it off take the bowl off remove the float place to the side here is the fun part look in the carb you will see some small hole spray them this will clean all of the old gas out if you can let it set for about 10 min then do it again blow out with air if you have one nothing else to do but reinstall this works most of the time ...Good Luck..
