Question about LG 32LX1D 32 in. LCD Television

2 Answers

Are electronic devices failing more today than in the past, and why? I have experienced several failures with relatively new electronic devices from PCs to TVs in the past couple of months. These should have lasted for years before failure. Are RoHS processes / materials contributing to this?

Simple answer due to the nature of these more comlex devices. The true nature of an electronic device is a series of switches that determine the action said device will take. I do not think that the materials used have anything to do with it.

When push quick start button, why does it display Erro 30 and doesn't run?

Hi There....This is a great message for ALL PRECOR 956/966 owners. This failure usually relates to a "communications" error between the upper and lower electronics. This particular failure is a direct result of a failed IFT drive module, or the lower drive "box" that is made by Advanced Drive Technology. The brains of this lower controller has failed and cannot "talk" to the upper board anymore due to several failed parts inside this box. You are lucky to have this failure arise over a fatal blow-out. Now replacements thru Precor or a distributor will be $550+ and are usually low stock items at places, but you can get repairs and exchanges of this Precor IFT drive by emailing gregATbuyfitnessrepairpartsDOTcom for much less than all other vendors. Currently these IFT drives are 380 exchange and 199 repair and turnaround is one day. Good Luck!

What is the problem for continuous drain from the washing machine half automatic

If that pump is failing to shut off then there is something wrong with the electronics. If your washer is a mechanical timer controlled device then you may have a sticking switch (which may explain why switching cycles does something for you). But if you have an electronic timer then you may be experiencing a board failure, where a cycle is being commanded when it is not intended to by design.

What does it weigh please? How old is it? Is it worth buying second hand cheaply or is a new singer 2 much better?

WOW with no pertinent information about your device IE model # or any other information i would like to convey my best advice to you.
this is my advice :: all things today are constructed to fail. and the devices of the past are also disposable for it is not worth a person`s time to fix/service for you your device.
Are you willing to pay 60 dollars to have your device repirid ?
Depending on what you have and i am thinking of an clothing iron you can purchase one form many places for the cost of a repair of your old one and have a warranty or other..
just bye a new one

Best regards Falco

It sounds that of a T'Con board failure. If you are not familiar with electronics, do not attempt to repair. Whether you suffer fatal electric shock. Instead, contact any experienced service technician, or the nearest service center. If you wish to get more details, check the site linked below. Pull up older posts there. Check the site with patience, as it has over 2400 posts now. All are related to electronic equipment repair help. If you search the site in Timeslide option, which can be selected from the drop down list at the top left of the display window, it will be easy to locate the related post. You can also do a search by type in the brand name to your device into its search box at the top right of display window.http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

My HP Photosmart C6190 keeps telling me to replace two ink cartridges when I have just replaced all the cartridges.

Several hp printer models produced in recent years have had some capacitors on the logic board fail. One of the early symptoms is ink system related failures and eventually it will constantly power on and off. Apparently some defective components were used in the construction of the logic board. On my C6180 there were 3 failed capacitors (the green cylinders - the puffed top indicates failure) and a 4th from the same manufacturer (TEAPO - many unfavorable web references to this manufacturer). If you have the failed capacitors, I would recommend replacing them, however I you do not do it yourself, the price to have an electronics repair may be more then the price of a new printer. I hope this helps.

After A.C. power failures, my Panasonic DMR-EH55 does not come "to life" again (even in "off mode"). Removing it from the power for several days then trying again (and repeating this if...

Possible that the main power supply has failed and so it is important that with your skills you must be able to check the power to the SMPS - switch mode power supply.
If power is good then the processor must be checked or there is failure on the motherboard.

What is the difference between electrical and electronics?

HI,

One view point is that "Electrical" relates to the development and delivery of the electrical energy to the various devices that perform specific functions in a given environment. Example: The alternator in your car that series of wires delivers electrical power / energy to various components (radio, the computer that monitors / controls operation of the engine) in todays cars.

Where as "Electronics" relates more to the complex functions performed within a given device, more often now days by circuits comprised of many micro electronic sub components that make up the structure of a single micro electronic component. Example: a typical CPU chip would / could contain thousands of individual transistor circuits within a device no bigger that the size of your small finger nail with room to spare.

All TV's in house failing, a few at a time

Hey PNorris,

If multiple electronic devices are failing in your home all at once, I would probably first have to ask if your home recently experienced an electrical storm or major power surge of any kind.

Normally the effects of such large-scale surges are immediately noticeable - TV's and other major electronic devices may fail to turn on, fuses may be blown or circuit breakers tripped, and in some cases electrical wiring may be melted.

If nothing like this has happened recently, low-level power surges may still be a potential cause of this problem. When the motor from any large appliance (such as an air conditioner or refrigerator) turns on or off, it often diverts power to and from other electronic devices using the same circuits. This fluctuation in electrical current may result in low-level power surges to every connected device. While not immediately noticeable, these low-level surges can often cause the eventual failure of (and gradually degrading quality in) many audio/video components.

Typically, the easiest way to avoid situations like this is to make sure that outlets are not overloaded and surge protectors are used with every major electrical device in your home. For older homes however, replacing the house's wiring may be necessary. Homes that were originally built at the turn of the 20th century may not always have wiring capable of supporting the electrical needs of many modern appliances.

Ultimately, this means that in addition to contacting your local TV repair facility, you may want to also speak with an electrician. This is probably the best way to determine whether or not power surges have caused these failures, and may give you a better idea how to proceed.

Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron

2 year old turned tv on/off several times - TV doesn't turn on

The main power supply is in the protect mode. Usually this is caused by the high voltage section, scan amplifiers, and or the main power supply failing. Many times, when there are failures in the scan amplifier output sections, the main power supply can also be damaged.

On rare occastions, the CRT electron-gun can have a short, and cause this type of failure condition.

An experienced TV tech should be able to service this for you.
