Been through two new batteries and they won't

Yes is the motherboard .the charging system is foulty ,he should check the bat contacts if there is any dry joint .

its most probly your power pack, if its under the correct Volt and Amp, the laptop will still work but the batt will not charge

This could also be a bad power jack. These take a beating and fail. See if the laptop will run without the batteries and just on the ac supply. If not, then it is probably the jack.

If you have measured the voltage at the charger tip and it is within the specs for the power that this laptop requires then the next step would be to test the DC jack itself for possible cold solder or worn out tension strip that holds the charger tip. If those are viable then the charging/power circuit on the motherboard may well be the problem child here.
