Sounds like a coupling capacitor is opening or changing value, take an insulated piece of plastic and gently tap and touch different areas around the board and see if you might have a "cold solder joint" from thermal change on board, then if that doesn't help get a can of "Freeze-Spray" at radio-shack or any electronics store,remove back of the unit , then when problem shows very carefully spray each component around where speaker wires are connected to the board (audio section) be it the main mother board or a sub audio board,when problem disappears you've found it
