First check the air cleaner. Clean or replace it. You need to set the mixtures for the carburetor. You will find a Low and High adjustment screw usually on the left or right side of the carburetor on the outside of the housing. At idle turn the screw in or clockwise until the rps starts to decrease. Then start turning it out till you hit max idle rpms. Turn screw back in a quarter to half turn and it should be idling smoothly. Be careful here and get someone to hold saw if necessary but hold in throttle to full speed and do the same with high adjustment screw. turn it in till rpm starts to drop then back it out until you get to max rpm and it won't go any higher then turn it back in a half a turn. After adjusting the mixture it might be necessary to readjust the idle speed.

How to make adjustments on a chainsaw it will run fine for a while then when you get to cutting good it wont run when you mash trigger

it could be a number of things. if the saw runs and revs up fine without load then bogs under load then change your clutch springs. if it bogs out with no load then its a fuel system problem

Does cut off saw need carb adj. it bogs down while cutting

It sounds like you are cutting something heavier than your saw can handle. I would check the manual and the limitations of your saw. If it is getting bogged down when sawing very small, thin things then the chain might need to be replaced. Don't keep using it until you have replaced the chain if that is the case.

Bogs down while cutting does carb need adj.

Every saw is going to bog down some when cutting. What condition is the blade? I would need more information on what kind of saw it is in order to try and help. Is this gas powered? Wet saw? Wood, concert or steel?

Have trouble starting homelite textron chian saw carb setting

First is the gas mix right? 2 ids the air filter clean? 3. have you replaced the tank fuel filter to make sure it's getting gas? 4. is the plastic line cracked? 5. adjust both carb screws all the way down gently then reverse the screws counter clockwise 2 and 1/2 turns, this should allow it to start and run, once it has started let it warm up and adjust the idle for it to run smooth without dying. Once its running rev it up to make sure it does not have any dead spots in it then try a test cut, if it bogs down adjust the gas screw to in rich it just a little and try cutting again if it does not bog down you should be set. there are other things that can cause it to run poorly like a bad carb gasket or loose screws on the carburetor. If you need more help post here and I will give you some other things to look at.

My 345 chainsaw bogs down when it hits wood

There are two idle screws one high, and one low. Your high adjustment idle screw needs to be adjusted.
