I bought 2 Kingston DDR2 667Mhz PC25300 Dimms 1GB each.
I installed them in my ASRock 775Dual-880Pro Mainboard and the Bios
recognizes them as 512MB each. The same thing happens in WinXP.What can
I do?
P.S. I ran the Sisoft Sandra 2009 Dignostic Program and it found that I have 2 Dimms of 1GB each!
Before those two modules I used a Super Talent DDR2 PC5300 1GB wich was ok.
Then I bought one of the pair of Kingston and tried it with the Super
Talent. The result was that the Bios said I had two modules, one with
1Gb (the Super Talent Module) and the other with 512Mb (the Kingston
module). I thought that this was because the brand was not the same, so
i bought a second Kingston. But when I put the two Kingstons together
the Bios recognized them as 512Mb each as I said before.
I also tried installing one Kingston at a time, with the same result: Total memory=512Mb
I also removed the CMOS batt waited for about 5 minutes and reinstalled
with no difference. The only thing left to do is update the BIOS but i
am a little affraid I might cause a permanent problem
I think you are right, you have to update your BIOS, or try to change your Kingston to Super Talent or other compatible with your motherboard ram. Good luck!

Sounds like a video driver issue. Try this: Reboot the system and press the f8 key before it loads windows and select vga mode. Once you do this try reinstalling your driver for your vga adapter. Good luck and let me know how it went.
Please refer to the Product user manual. You can download it from the following link: - http://europe.asrock.com/manual/775Dual-880Pro.pdf Hope this helps!!
Hi, this link will show you the manual to your Motherboard, Page 12 section 1.4 Motherboard Layout. this page will show the layout and you may need to zoom in to see it clearer, there is No.5 CPU Fan Connector (CPU_FAN1) next to the CPU slot and there only seems to be 1 more Fan connection No.15 Chassis Fan Connector (CHA_FAN1), this seems to be the only additional fan connection, normally you would connect a side door/panel fan, the rear fan connections direct to the PSU.
Your memory is not supported in Asus QVL = Qualified Vendor Listlist. There are only 4 Kingston DIMMs that pass Asus test for 667MHz. They are;
DDR2 667 512MB - E5108AE-6E-E DDR2 667 1024MB - E5108AE-6E-E DDR2 667 512MB - E5108AE-6E-E DDR2 667 256MB - HYB18T256800AF3
Try exchanging the memory you bought for one of the above.
It wouldn't hurt to clean both sides of the memorys contacts. Two drops of alcohol onto a cotton sawb. Do not touch the contacts with your fingers.
your motherboard supports DDRII 667/533/400 and DDR400
1066 is not supported, I have never tried to use a unsupported memory speed on a motherboard so I don't know, I know you lowered it to 667 but still the ddr2 which you have bought is not supported by default.
