I am trying to put the code in my radio but all i am getting is it saying code how can i clear it so i can put the numbers in

We just unlocked a 98 Volvo S-70 radio,on the front,you have 2 slots across from each other,use you finger nails or a dime to get it to come out,then you can pull it out,then get the serial number and write it down,then put stereo back in,then get your vin number,it's on your insurance card,then call dealer and ask for your radio code,they will ask for vin number and radio serial code,if your radio says code,then you can enter it,ifit says off,then it's locked,you have 3 tries till it locks and it says off,if it says off,then you turn key to number 1,turn radio on,wait 2 hours,then it will say code,then enter code and radio will unlock,our code is 5513 if you want to see if it will work for you.Here's a link to you owners manual,read about the radio code,same as our's,but the dealer will give it to you free. 1994 Volvo 850 Watch this video. try hold number 2 & 5 while radio off while holding switch radio on this should go to factory settings

leave the radio on until it clears, the more times you enter the wrong code the longer you wait, it doubles up every time,eg.
first time 5mins,2nd 10, 20, 30, e.t.c dont keep trying or you may lock it out, just leave it on, how many times have you put the wrong code in?

Turn your ign. to acc. leave radio on to it clears, then you should be able to enter your code.
If you enter your code wrong three times the radio will shut off, if it dosen't take the code the first time, call your local dealer.
Pull radio have serial number and model. good chance radio was replaced and code wasn't updated.

You only get like 10 tries this means you made to many attempts trying to put the wrong code in. Disconnect the battery cable and then try putting the code in the radio again.

You have to run the engine for 1 hr without trying to put the code in that will clear it after 1 hr you can put in the code

ok your radio displays ERR , OK 3 options let it sit for an hour turned on , to reture to CODE display , or pull the radio fuse out for a minute and put it back in , returning to the CODE display , or disconnect the battery for a minute , returning to the CODE display . you got the ERR display because the code was wrong or not entered correctly , make your choice of getting the radio back to the CODE display by 1 of those 3 choices , while the radio displays CODE , use the preset buttons , if the first number of your code is 4 , then press the #1 preset button 4 time , when the first number has been input , put the 2nd number in by pressing the #2 prest button , if 2nd number of code is 8 , press the # 2 preset button 8 times till the # 8 is displayed , and so on . you see where this is giong ? when you have entered all the numbers correctly you will have you radio back . when you say you have the radio code , good luck ! were rooting for ya .
