Samsung 315 black color fades after 200 of 250 prints
I did a run of 250 legal size 24lb. text sheets.
At sheet 200 the black toner was fading off the pages.
On the screen I still have 60% of the black toner.
This was my first print job.
What do you suggest I do and also for this printer
would running 50 sheets 5 times as opposed to
the 250 all at once have made a difference?

Being laser-based, the SCX-4100 is a more economical choice over bubble jet printer whose cartridges are expensive in comparison to their durability. But be mindful that the SCX-4100 is a black-and-white device – so no color printing/copying for you, although it obviously scans color documents. The toner cartridge is good for about 3,000 copies, a figure that can increase 40% with toner management software (included). The device has a main paper tray that holds 250 sheets up to legal size. You can manually feed a sheet at time into a slot right above the front paper tray, and there’s also a rear slot for jam-prone material, like envelopes and transparencies. Unfortunately, the SCX-4100 lacks an automatic document feeder. Thanks. you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.
You need to see if the problem is coming from all of the colors or just one. You can print an internal test sheet or just print something with cyan, magenta, yellow and black to see if one or all of them are faded.
If all of the colors are faded and you have already replaced the cartridges then check the fuser unit. It is possible that the toner isn't fusing properly.
This may be a case of running out of toner, even if the software indicates that toner is still there. If you have a gram scale, try weighing the cartridges. For some reason I have not got consistent weights of empty cartridges, even with all residual toner shaken out, but my empty cartridge weights for color cartridges have been 457 grams, 462 grams and 475 grams. If the toner has been used up, the answer is to refill or replace the toner cartridges. Refilling requires (a) replacement chip(s). See other postings about toner refills for this model here on FixYa.
Did you just replace the toners? are you using generic? I have seen some colors off due to generic toners, (could be a bad batch).
Also, there should a be screen in the Menu section where you can try adjusting the color or
Re-calibrate it ( I would try this 1st)
Print out a Demo sheet it will give you a color test sheet how does it look?
I am not a color copier specialist but have worked w/techs that are, but i work on color printers, ususally same principle.
Also look for a screen called Configuration page this will tell you the settings of the copier and may actually tell you if a color is off.
the problem is you have to have a service manual because you are dealing with adjustments on an X-Y plane.
get in touch with your Samsung dealer or Samsung direct it speak to the IT departement if the printer has only printed 5000 or less pages total then you could get it repaired on the warrenty the main problem that is causing this is the optical print unit is damage or faulty- mainly the latter...
I have a SCX-4100 Samsung, replaced the tonger cartridge, it was working fine for a few hundred sheets of printing, but after that, the left side of the page was printed very light, faded. If I run the "Clean Drum", it will print a litter better, but still faded. What can I do to correct this problem? Thank you TT
