Question about ViewSonic VA1912WB 19" WideScreen Monitor
Veiwsonic VA1912WB flashes at pwr up then goes blank but pwr light remains green with no display. Have tried several PC's and several connectors..ie DVI and VGA .
You have a very common problem that happens to many LCD monitors after 2-3 years of use. Your monitor has blown the power supply that controls the backlight bulbs. Go to our web site at: www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm and look at the pictures of what blown capacitors look like. Open the back of your monitor and replace any of the parts that look like the ones in the pictures and you should be back going again. Be sure to usehigh temp (105c) replacements. Resolder them in with the side polarity stripe going the same direction and the old one came out. The values of the bad parts will be marked on the sides of the ones you take out, they can be ordered online from us or several other places, the one from Radio Shack are not suitable for use in the high heat inside on the monitor and will soon blow again.
I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.
