Question about Brother MFC-9440CN Laser Printer

Open Question

I have a Brother 9440cn. It will not allow printing as it says that one of the colour toner catridges needs replacing. This is in spite of the fact that I have opened up the Printer control panel in Safari and changed the output colour to B and W. Your assistance would be appreciated. Ben Milecki

SOURCE: brother 9440cn replace toner message override

well you could shake the toner cartridge, to make sure that the remaining toner has uniform coverage to the developer roller, which is the black magentic roller in the toner, which applies the toner onto the drum.

Only way to fix, if the printer uses a electronic sensor, is to actually change the toner, it can not be overridden.

SOURCE: How to check ink level on brother MFC-9440CN?

Hello,
Run the Brother Control Center. Click Device settings. Click where it says Inklevel.

A simpler way is Start-->All Programs-->Brother--> ...-->Status Monitor.
An icon will lodge itself on the tray (a printer). When icon is clicked on, the inklevels will show.

Hope it helps.

SOURCE: Put in a brand new

Hi there maximum time we found it is a the head problem. The print head is what the cartridges sit in inside of the printer. For resolve the problem please follow these.

Open the printer and wait for the carriage to slide over. Some how if its not come then Unplug the printer & Manually slide the carriage.
Now Remove the ink cartridges from the print head & Use wet warm cotton swab or use alcohol to thoroughly clean the print head.
Repeat this until there is no ink residue coming off on the cotton swab. After finished it make the head dry then fix it back. Now Try to print something now
If that does not work then follow the next step.

Remove the printer data cable & restart the PC & printer. Then fit back the data cable & turn on the printer. Hope that's start working , if no luck then Uninstall the printer driver & restart the PC & Printer both again. Now install the driver of the printer and connect it with PC ,Turn on printer & go for a test print from the printer preference. Thanks & waiting for your reply.

Can't get the same colour on my printing page as I see on the screen How can I fix it?

If the toner cartridges have enough toner, there could be dust/ Toner Dust accumulated on the mirrors and lenses inside the printer, which partially blocks laser beams and requires cleaning/ servicing by a professional. Also, make sure that the toners and the print settings on your PC are ok.

Let me know if any further clarification/ assistance is required.

Good Luck!

How do I set Brother 9440 MFC to print using black cartridge only?

Hello,

You can set the MFC-9440CN to print with the black toner cartridge only through the printer drivers.

If you are using Mac, this needs to be changed before you print or set a preset.

If you are using windows, follow the below steps.

1. Go to Start menu \ Control Panel \ Printers (devices and printers for windows 7)
2. Right click on the MFC-9440CN and select "printing preferences"
3. Under the "basic" tab, you will see "color mode"; simply select "mono"

Thank you,

Red colour toner replaced Cartridge with a new onebut still no print coreect. Replaced the Yellow colour toner Cartridge with a new one but printing is not clear.

this problem regards the head of the catridge. u have to do clean due to dust it may happenlike that. u clean inside with the cotton cloth on the print head and refix the all color catridges. when u remove ur catridge u have to close all the sides due to avoiding dry.
the second reason when u purchase ur catridges, check whether the catridges are valid date.

Printer is not printing clear and nice pictures

Dear Cubohr,

You need to check the other colour toners, if the other toners are running low, than you will find that the black tone becomes more prominant in your prints. Alternately, there may be an environmental condition with your unit. If it is in direct sunlight, then it is possable that you are getting light interference on all your prints. There are also a number of other reasons.

Check your toners first, check if there is light interference, if both are ok, your unit may still be under brother warranty and you may need to get it to a brother service centre.
