When I try to connect to the Samsung GT-S5230 i get the message 'No response from the device because it is in the initializing stage after booting'. However the phone is not booting! I connect via USB cable and i use the 'New PC studio' that comes with the phone.

Method 1:
1 - Switch ON your Samsung S5230 Star with a NOT ACCEPTED SIM Card.
2 - Samsung S5230 Star will ask for "Password".
3 - Enter the Unlock Code.

it worked for mine...

u can format it through ur computer and update ur mobile from update center in run type cmd
format h: drive name of ur phone with: then asked is ur device ready then yes, yes then it will format ur phone then press enter

Try this:
Menu--Settings--Phone Settings--PC Connections--select Mass Storage and Save.
Now try to connect it.A window will pop up and ask you to use the following for opening up and you select the folder option.
If you don't see a pop up then you see it in my computer as removable disk.

P.S. If you are able to connect then your PC suite is corrupt or out of date.Download the latest one from this link Samsung PC Suite.N now change the mass storage option to pc suite from settings...n then try n connect.
